I know I'll get blasted for this, and hopefully our female viewers can back me up. I read the latest US Magazine (yeah I know) and noticed David Arquette was wearing a houndstooth hat. I know they bought, or were thinking of buying a house in Mountain Brook, so he could be supporting the Tide. Did any one notice this or can any one find and post that picture. Thanks and Roll Tide

David Arquette is just a bad dresser, not that a houndstooth hat is bad, but I doubt that it had anything to do with Alabama. Courtney is from Mountain Brook, and might have been an Alabama fan growing up, or that David has latched on to Alabama now that we are winning this year because his wife is from there and feels a connection, who knows.

Courtney Cox has been quoted as saying she could never live in Alabama again and feels embarassed at having to admit being from there. Good Lord, she should thank God for being from the South. Those were not her exact words but I'd read them years ago.
was that in US Mag as well? i wouldn't put much weight in quotes from those magazines. I doubt she'd say something like that with family still in Bama.

That doesn't sound like anything Courtney would say. Her family still lives here and she has been quoted numerous times on her love of Birmingham. While I am not sure about her actually having a house here or ever living her again, I don't believe she has ever said anything bad about B'ham. Also, she didn't stay in her own house for the Christening, she stayed at her parents house as did Jennifer Aniston.

According to Courtney's cousin, she and David are very much Alabama fans. David is a Bama fan by marriage. They do not own a home in Birmingham and, as far as her family knows, have never considered buying a home in Birmingham.

They both love Birmingham and Alabama, which is why they visit here on a regular (several times a year) basis.

Re: Arquette

About two years ago, I read an article in a Birmingham magazine in which Courteney was fairly nostalgic about her time growing up in Birmingham. One thing she remembered fondly about Birmingham was Ollie's. She said a few other nice things, but that stuck out.

It can sometimes be embarassing to tell people you're from Alabama when stupid stuff happens [Judge Moore, Lieutenant Governor urinating in a jug, "I seen that thar tornader rip that trailerhouse to smithereenies"], but some of us do a pretty good job uplifting Alabama to outsiders despite the small, but visible, lapses of good judgment and fairness. You can't really blame her for that. You guys would probably be OK with Sela Ward being ashamed [she's not] of being from Mississippi, right? Come on.

When I moved to Maryland, I'd tell people where I'm from and they'd say, "Whoa, I'm sorry." Then I'd break out my pictures of the 'Bama campus, Mobile, Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, and Guntersville. If you guys could just do something about the heat, I'd move back down there in a heartbeat.
