With the big wrongful termination lawsuit going on down the road at Ohio State, IU probably just wanted to make sure they have all of their ducks in a row before firing him this afternoon.

The sad part is that Sampson has proven to be a really good coach. He'll have to wait a great deal of time before he gets another shot at a major program, but he will be back. If Rick Neuheisel can make a comeback, Sampson can and will.
