About the only thing right now that separates the two parties in a "both sides" argument is the fact that it was the self-proclaimed patriots of a Republican loser who succeeded in doing something that the brave souls on United 93 (that these same self-appointed patriots praise) prevented from happening.......the US Capitol wasn't attacked by Al Qaeda, but it most certainly was by supporters of a self-immolating clown.
Both sides are corrupt. Both sides lie incessantly. Both sides exaggerate. Both sides do not for a moment want to be pinned down on specifics. Both sides invoke state or federal authority depending upon whom is in charge. (It's so funny to me how "states rights" is racist unless you practice states rights like Democrats did during Covid without using the WORDS, and then it's suddenly okay). And yes, both sides QUESTION ELECTION RESULTS publicly, but at least as sleazy as it was when the Democrats did it, they stayed within the framework of the rules. And in 2000, look, you had the key state just by chance controlled by the brother of the opponent in a close race in one state and had won the (it doesn't really exist, folks) popular vote, so you had some leverage. That bothers me far less than 2004 or "well, the electors COULD elect someone besides Trump" in 2016, even though technically both of those were within framework of the rules.
And only one side has pulled their candidate who clinched the nomination out of the race SOLELY because polls showed him losing and replaced that candidate in hopes of winning the election, and it wasn't Trump's party. Biden could have been the same dottering old man, but if he'd had a ten-point lead in the polls, they wouldn't dare have switched him out and everybody knows it.
