Reporter 1: Devonta, what was it like last night? I mean you are the Heisman winner.

D: It was special, it felt great. I mean, just being here with Mac and Coach Saban last night, it was a great feeling. That is in the past though, moving on to Ohio State.

Reporter 2(Jeff Speegle). Devonta, I know you are good at staying focused, putting last night aside already and all that. But I mean, how was last night? Did you sleep well, were you too excited? Was it a good nights sleep...or I mean...

D: I went home and went straight to sleep.

I love the focus of this team. I think that if we complete the mission, we will look back on this team as one of the greats, not only in what they accomplished, but also the circumstances in which they achieved what they did.

But..everyone who has ever reported on this kid has said the same things. The boy has a superbly professional demeanor. I have watched Bama since 1961. Can remember so many WRs of so many types. Seen some awesome WRs over the years. Donta may be in a class of his own. The man is just a football player.

And what is cool..is watching Waddle when asked a question. Watch the grin..like the question reminds him of a joke or something. Different personna. Those boys enjoy their time playing together. That is obvious. I hope Waddle comes back. He probably will not...but I would sure enjoy watching him again.

To be fair, he answers every question with that same face. Heck, he barely smiled winning the Heisman.

All of this is a result of what the players go through from the first time they report for fall practice as freshmen. They are put through hell in order to form the bond necessary to give everything it takes to make sure your brothers next to you succeed. It changes players from a "me first" to "team first" mentality. Like DS and MJ have said, team success brings individual success. It takes 11 guys working at their best for a play to result in a TD pass from MJ to DS.

Mac has to read the defense
Center has to adjust protection if he sees it is necessary
Receivers have to run their routes and fight off jams
Mac has to sell the handoff if it is a PA
Mac then has to go through his progressions
RB has to pick up any blitzes and release after a few seconds
OL has to maintain the pocket without holding
Mac eventually finds a wide open WR because he has all **** day back there

Any hiccup along the way leads to a sack, incompletion, penalty, or turnover.

Mac trusts the other 10 guys. DS trusts the other 10 guys. I would say this may be the best "team" we've ever fielded on the offensive side of the ball. I thought that was the 2012 team until this year. The individual success of DS is a direct result of his trust in his teammates and his incredible ability to work the field and make plays.

In some ways he reminds me of Amari Cooper -- no long answers, just straight and to the point, focus on business. Saw where Cooper had surgery yesterday...guess there was more going on with his ankle than we knew.
