I thought that they had changed that to 7 wins during 12 game seasons.6 wins do bowl eligible make.:BigA:
I thought so too.. My understanding is that a team has to have a WINNING season.. 6 wins in an 11-game season, but 7 in a 12-game season.I thought that they had changed that to 7 wins during 12 game seasons.
Yeah, doesn't the SEC have 8 spots committed to them? 1 auto, 1 at large, and 6 others? The at large and 6 others are dependent upon records. I don't think the SEC had 8 bowl teams last year, but it did have the auto and at-large spot.6 wins for eligibility, 7 wins to lock a berth. Though, in essence, with 33,000 bowl games, 6 wins clinches now, especially for a BCS conference school
I'd prefer 7 wins, but rest assured Alabama would get a berth due to the slots set aside for SEC teams. Plus, We have been to more bowls, have more bowl victories, and travel extremely well.A 6-6 season does make a team elligible for post season play. But 7-5 would clinch it. Btw, North Texas went to a bowl game in 2002 or 2001 with a 5-6 record. Of course they won the Sun Belt so that gave them the birth.
