DL London Simmons commits to Alabama

3* Dl from Mississippi. Plays 1A ball which explains the low rating. Was going to have to work out for the staff in person to get the go ahead to commit. Apparently imthat went very well this weekend and our 2nd DL is on board.

Hes playing at a very small school but he absolutely buries the other guys on the field often beating double and triple teams.

Don't get caught up in the ranking here, that'll adjust some but will likely stay a 3 star given his school size.

His highlights aren't a fair interpretation of him. He literally can't be blocked but he plays at a tiny 1a private school. So the level of competition just isn't their. Hes beating their entire lines.

He impressed at camp last month and was beating oline pretty consistently.

Bama comparison would be Byron Young or phidarian Mathis. We are looking at him as a nose tackle.

If he’s a Byron Young or Phil Mathis ….very good pick up. At camps the small school guys have a chance to go up against guys from bigger schools, I presume.

This is a solid pick-up. His film is impressive albeit at a lower level competition, but the potential is apparent. His offer list includes FSU, LSU and Arkansas. Bama, FSU and NC state were his finalists. Like Pokechop mentioned, he impressed staff in real time and that's what matters, not star ratings. Speaking of rankings, expect his to rise as well as more offers to come in now that he is committed to Alabama.

The ability to run and move are God given as well as coaching, maybe more so. Those abilities translate to ANY level I would think.
