I'm sure there is a little rumble of nerves down on the Plains. I hear the eagle mascot has stared losing its feathers because of the stress. Anyway, I live in Tennessee. I can tell you that here the Vol's reactions are the same. They try to talk big but they are scared (explicative deleted)LESS!

One thing that I have read and I beleive is true is that the barners are worried that their reign of winning against the Crimson tide is over. All I have heard is that Alabama is crazy for paying a coach that much money. I look at it this way you get what you pay for. The Tide will rise in 2007. Here is a clip I found in an artical on Bamadog and it all true......

Yes, I can feel the pain of the Auburn Nation. I can understand its frustration. It's like, "Dude, what else do we have to do?"

Think of it this way - if Alabama was on a five-game winning streak against AU, and then the Barners hired a proven head coach, would we be intimidated? I strongly doubt it. The euphoria of all of those wins is pretty strong. So strong that it won't wear off until Auburn actually loses to us. I think most Auburn fans still fully expect to beat Alabama this season, and won't believe otherwise until it actually happens.

That being said, I think that we do have rival fans of other schools that are starting to worry. Namely in places like Tennessee and Arkansas.

Worried is not the best to describe the barnyard fans. I was reading several au responses when Rodriquez turned the Tide down. "He played them like fools. The bammers will never get a coach like Tubberville" AUBlueOrange. Well he is right. Alabama did not get a coach like loserville. Tubby got not respect when the albarn team was ignore for the National Title. BAMA got a coach who has won a National Title and will earn it rather than crying for it. The right word to discribe the barnyard yappers is denial. Denial: Refusal to face unpleasant facts! I wouldn't characterize them as "worried" but jealous that we hired Saban? YESSSSS!
Most "Barners" didn't think or didn't want to think that we would actually get
Nick Saban as our HC. Now that we do, they are nervous, and they realize the trophy they received after winning the Cotton Bowl is gonna be the LAST
trophy they will have for MANY MANY years to come.

You're probably right. They say success breeds contempt. But they also say contempt breeds failure. Contempt away barners. Pay no attention to that man under the headset in his purple?? shirt. He don't know nothing about no football. Like you said, he's just another Bear Bryant wannabe.
