My would be vote is not included in this. I would have voted to have taken Oklahoma, but not Texas.

Oklahoma fans seem to be ok (no pun intended). They seem knowledgeable and as gracious in defeat as they are in victory.

The Texas crowd is the opposite.

I despise them more than any other fan base. They are constantly talking about how great they are, how the college football world worships them, and they never stop.

I understand they have a past, but can you please hush until you are relevant again?

I can also see this move potentially being bad for Texas. They could easily slip into oblivion much like Nebraska.
They actually don't have much of a past either.

As a reminder, Texas - a team that other than the Vince Young/Colt McCoy era has been pretty much a low-level mediocrity for half a century - is going to win the Big 12 this year AND then win the SEC "in 2 years."

Will they get better coaching with Sark if he can stay off the bottle? Yes.

But the PTB runs the show down there, too.

They cannot even figure out whether to play their rally song or not...how can they unify around a coach and team? The first "big" loss and the vultures will be circling...

Records since Nebraska left Big 12 prior to 2011 season:

Nebraska 78-54
Texas 73-53

Take into account Nebraska has significant disadvantages compared to Texas and plays in a tougher conference....and Texas is already worse than Nebraska. (I'm gonna go take several cleansing shots after having to even say that).

I did not realize Texas was THAT mediocre. I knew they were bad ever since "Colt got hurt." But the record doesn't lie. Welcome to the SEC shorthorns!!!

UT fans are still living in the past. I was out in Oklahoma this week and had on a Bama shirt. Walking down the the street and just said how's it going to the person passing me. He spoke and then said "Alabama". My reply was "is there another team"? He laughed and gave me the hook'em sign and then said if Colt had not of gotten hurt we would have won. I told him Greg played with busted ribs. And he said OK I will give you that one. Even my wife laughed at him after he walked away.

If they are like the Alabama legislature they will pound their chests and make a bunch of noise but wind up not doing anything. Although I just looked it up and I see your governor went to Oklahoma State. (Our governor is a barn grad).

Do Sooner fans have any derisive nicknames for OSU? Keep in mind we have a strict profanity policy before you answer.
Most OU fans never went to college in Norman. They went to their local community college.

We, Oklahoma State fans, don't give a crap what OU fans call us. We are the most dominate athletic program in the state and in the Big XII. Outside the state of California, no college has won more team NCAA titles than the Pokes.

Stanford- 128
UCLA - 119
USC - 110
Oklahoma State - 52
Penn State -51
UT - 50
Arkansas - 48

OU - 32 (ranked 15th in the country)

OSU might have not won a football national title (We would have if we had the chance to play LSU in 2011) but we've won them in mens basketball (back-to-back), baseball, wrestling, golf, cross country, tennis... I don't 'claim' the 1945 football title as awarded a few years ago by the AFCA.

But many of those were in Men's Golf -- which only myself and about 5 other people care about.
"But"?

So????

11 of the 52 NCAA titles are in golf. OSU has a bunch of guys on the Tour right now (and have had several). I've always found it comical... especially with OU fans... they'd make fun of Oklahoma State winning a title in wrestling or golf. They'd say "only football counts" (which doesn't even have an official NCAA championship). But when they got good in softball, well now it's "Football and Softball".

Every school should be proud of their programs. If that's UC Santa Barbara winning the NCAA title in water polo or Oklahoma State winning another golf title, be proud.

52 NCAA titles is something nearly all schools would L-O-V-E to have. Yea, football runs all sports but when you can be successful in football (Ok State is top 10 in total wins the past 12-14 years or so in the country) as well as win 52 titles, that impressive. Something to be proud of.

Tell me how I'm wrong in my line of thinking?

OSU's offense was the best in the country that season. There was no reason your team should have been given another shot at a team they already lost to. ONLY reason was because of ESPN and the SEC ties.

Hell, it's a huge reason we have the playoffs now. Outside of the Alabama and some in the SEC, many believe the Cowboys were the best team in the nation.

Again, tell me how I'm wrong.

You lost to Iowa State..........who had a 6-7 record........Bama lost to LSU, who was undefeated........ I would think losing to a team who was undefeated kinda trumps losing to a 6-7 team...... of course that’s just an opinion

Dude, why? As an Ohio State fan whose team has also been left out for losing to bad teams - that's the way it goes. Want to play for a title - don't lose to bad teams - especially late in the season. Alabama would have curb stomped the Cowboys that year. Their defense was NFL caliber across the board, and LSU's defense might have been even better.

The morning of the ISU game, OSU lost 4 members of the athletic program in a plane crash (2nd devastating plane crash in 10 years for OSU). MUCH of the team were close to both coaches who died. I know Justin Blackmon's family and talking to him later... that team were going through the motions. They were stunned and struggled to 'get up' for the game.

We managed to get up 24-7 but they struggled to keep it up and lost in OT (where in which, our kicker actually made a game winning FG the officials said was no good, which it was).

Not sure what else to say. OSU had a MUCH MUCH MUCH better resume than Alabama had. It was almost comical comparing the two and what team did that season.

Your Tide making it into the title game and OSU not was the nail in the coffin for the BCS. You do understand that, right?

OSU had a better resume than Alabama did. It actually wasn't even close. ESPN needed Bama in it again... hell, up 44-3 in Bedlam, ESPN had Saban on the air during the game making his case as to why his teams should be in over OSU.

Read my reply above to the events going into the Iowa State game.

And ISU went 6-6 in the regular season, 5-4 going into the OSU game. Just for the facts to be accurate.

While the events of that day are terrible and caused a lot of devastation, emotion and loss was not a reason to put OSU in the title game........ and I say that with the utmost respect and sympathy..........and had it been the other way around, it wouldn’t have been a reason to put Bama in the title game.

Alabama lost at home. They didn't even win their DIVISION and never played in their conference championship. They had MUCH fewer top 25 wins and faced only 3 bowl bound teams compared to OSU's 7.

OSU would have beat LSU 38-24.
