I’m hoping poor choices for GOP candidates combined with the abortion issue will help the Dems hold the Senate, despite the conventional wisdom to the contrary.
The abortion thing would have more relevance if people weren't struggling financially and retirees didn't just see 30% of their nest egg go up in smoke. Besides, it's not like they want federal legislation on this issue regardless. If we ever crawl out of this recession, the abortion thing is "old reliable' for left-right talking points. They need this to continue to be an issue for some time to come. They don't care with their constituents think....they never have.

30% where are you getting that? The S&P500 is up 107% since the Covid crash.

I’ve seen speculation that the poor polling on the economy is more a reflection of partisanship than a true reflection of people’s opinions. In other words, people who vote GOP are typically doing fine economically themselves, but tell pollsters the economy is bad because to say otherwise would be saying the Dems are doing something well.

The poor choices could doom them. They ran homeless people and pulled people out of asylums in 2022.

This is what happens when your whole portfolio is crypto
Yeah poor boomers. Sitting around crying in their house (that they are going to sell to someone for 10x what they paid for it 40 years ago) about how they lost 30% of their nest egg day trading with crypto bros.

In the long run, if there is one, this will be healthy for our democracy. Truth is we have had politicians for far too long playing fast and lose with the law. Republicans are dying to find someone besides them flagrantly breaking the law. Any Democrats should think long and hard about breaking any law.

Pretty sure the Republicans won't care if a targeted Demoncrat has broken a law or not.

It’s only supposed to be upside down in times of extreme distress but I suppose that is subjective. It is protected free speech so whatever floats their boat. I think it’s stupid and I will feel the same way if someone does it in the event of a Trump victory in November.

Years ago, I was on another board and someone said they had worked for a bank that one day accidentally raised the flag upside down. He said a cop came in to make sure everything was OK.

I'm sure some think politics 24/7 and might respond that way. Some.

However, there's no denying that the place that slaps you in the face every time you go there/shop there is the grocery store. Everything you buy today is incredibly inflated.

I don't see how that is a partisan/political thing at all.
