That is the wonderful thing about college basketball. We still get a chance to prove it on the court. It is early in the season - if we continue to win, especially as we begin to play in the SEC, our rankings will go up.

The reason we dropped in the AP is because of our "slim" 9 point (or something like that) victory over whoever we played Wednesday. The voters don't realize how much we were up before giving up a bunch of points at the end of the game.

Also, if anything is outrageous, it's us being ranked ahead of Washington in one of the polls. They not only beat us, but they also beat NC State the other night. THey only have one loss too (Gonzaga, I believe??). That is more of an outrage.

I agree . .

but polls really don't mean anything this time of year. Remember when we were ranked #1 and then barely made the dance? Let's not worry too much about it and prepare ourselves for a few close losses in SEC play. We'll be there in March when it counts, if we stay healthy.

Forget the polls and count the W's. 18-20 wins and we have a tuff row to hoe.

20-23 wins and we get much better seeding.

23 and above, well who could ask for a better shot at making some noise than that!

its not outrageous, its about right. Washington went ahead of us and so did Gonzaga. Washington beat us, and Gonzaga beat them. Nuff said.
I'm referring to the USA Today/ESPN poll, which is a joke, even though it has us at #14.
