Re: Cameron Clear and Phillip Dukes to make college announcements; considering Alabam

Interesting regarding dukes.
He just committed to the Gamecocks.

Phillip Dukes said:
"I've had it (the decision) for a long time, I just didn't want to tell anybody," he said after declaring for the Gamecocks.
Oh well, I wasn't expecting him anyway, or Clear for that matter.

Close to it. They have several JUCOs and Greyshirts in this class, so the numbers won't be too high.

If USCe gets 3 more commitments tomorrow, they WILL NOT have any more room.

There is only two more on the board, Cooper and Clowney.

That is interesting. I had asked (in the Clowney thread) if Clowney would be the last committment that USCe would take because of numbers. There were posters from SC that said that would be the case. The numbers were broke down from Jucos, EE, and Grayshirts. I guess this will cause additional grayshirts.....

spurrier will effectively force the NCAA or SEC to make a ruling on GS's with the 10 kids on that team that are going to have enroll late.he has basically done what nutt did two years ago and got called out on it, this time he has taken it too a new low by asking kids not to sign their NLI but to commit in order to bolster his ranking. its the kind of move that enforces my hatred for this conference and the other 11 schools involved.

After hearing USCe's total, I started comparing it to Houston's class in 2009. That class was close to 35 IIRC. This class is getting to that point.

Well I sure hope there is some kind of national article about this. I still see quotes and comments about Saban and this from what I think was the Wall Street Journal article. I know it was a little different in that it mentioned medical situations but still. The gist was that Saban got whoever he wanted and then "forced" folks out to make room for them. Well if they notice we only have 21 commitments this year.

They have early enrollees that count back to 2010 because they didn't bring in a full class that year. Only two have been asked to greyshirt, and there will be a couple of guys who have to go to prep because they will most likely not qualify.

someone from UF wrote an article today calling GS's "morally reprehenible" i wouldnt go that far, since they can benefit some player, JP Wilison comes to mind, but when you do it with like 5 or 6 in class and then sign kids who are JUCO bound only to run up your totals its just asking to be dealt with by the SEC. Especially given the "nutt" rule.

I understand that but according to posters in another thread who were USCe fans, USCe only had room for 1 more commit (Clowney) to get within the rule of 28 (and 25 reporting with this class this summer). That number included Backcounted EE and Jucos along with grayshirts, nonqualifiers, etc... If USCe is taking more commitments then that number is going to swell to a bigger number than CHN at Ole Miss with that ridiculous number. Keep in mind that when CNS and CHN did the oversigning deal they were both in season 1 or 2. CSS is in, what, season 7? I do not have a problem with oversigning or grayshirting, if a kid is wanting to come to your school then take him but what is the story with USCe and this class? How many Seniors were lost in the last 2 years? How many people were put on hardship waivers? How many just transferred or gave up the sport? Did the Old Ball Coach just decide to take what he was doing seriously and get off the golf course so he is purging his program? This high number strikes me as odd in year 7 of CSS.

I've heard Clear was announcing at 1PM Central, but I've got a feeling he's all Vol.
