Game Thread: Early Bowl Games Thread

I am not trying to defend Vandy and esp. not Pavia, but they thought they had a possible shot of making the 12 team playoff and when that did not happen I can see the lack of desire or fire playing in these bowl games. It's almost like Bama every year, championship ( SEC or NC) or bust. I know Vandy and other teams in similar fashion ( Texas, ND) are no way comparable to Bama in history and expectations, but you have to think other than the benefits ( money, extra practices, reward to players/ fans) of playing in bowl games, the real prize are the playoffs.

So far, the SEC teams look like Big XII teams from 10-15 years ago and the B1G teams look like SEC teams from 10 years ago. It may or may not mean anything for tomorrow, but I think it's a good indicator. Also, the myth of the B1G being soft and easy seems busted.

I don't believe anyone that knows football believes BIG 10 is not physical. the criticism has been that are generally slower than SEC and even PAC 10. the BIG 12 was notorious for being soft with lack of defenses.

Im surprised the bowl game name wasn't changed too, "The Diego Pavia Classic" in his honor, for gracing us with his majestic football talent..

I would put that in blue, buttttt, I'm serious in all honesty..😁😁

Really? We are discussing strength of conferences by their bowl record? After teams have been off a month, teams have opt outs, etc. here are up to date conference vs conference records so far this season . Even with the horrid SEC Bowl performances, still a decent overall record this season

All the chest thumping by Vandy about being better than CFP teams hasn't helped them vs Iowa...its going to be hard to say a 9 game schedule is detrimental if teams don't show strength in these games...I know there are opt outs and circumstances but its getting embarrassing at this point if Vandy cannot come back in this one..plus UT has only 61 active players, I believe they are short on the RB side also...that one could go on the L side too.
