Here's another Croyle video I made that I titled "Eleven". It's from the 2005 Iron Bowl against Auburn (right click and save):

Hope you guys aren't offended by it. I know that game wasn't pretty for Bama fans. But I thought Brodie showed some true grit and toughness in that game considering the punishment he took.

Enjoy

Yeah, so your post is not going to be well received.
However, I hope every member of the Alabama football team is motivated by that embarrassment when they are feeling tired during fall camp. The team might need to see your video.

I'll be honest and say I've never seen alot of those sacks before because I turned off the T.V. after it was 21-0. Not alot to say...all the orange hurt my eyes.

What was your reason for posting that media link?

Just wanted to share the vid and get some feedback on it from you guys. If you check my post history here, you'd see I'm a Chiefs fan and a fan of Croyle as well as Alabama football. So there was no ill intent in posting the vid. I had a feeling some might take it the wrong way thus why said I hope nobody is offended. I met no harm.

i'm not offended by it. i think every bama player (especially o-line) and fan alike need to watch that video and understand how important that game is in t-town this year.

I'm actually glad this was posted because hopefully those of us who didn't realize quite how a thin offensive line can affect a teams performance can see first hand how important a talented and deep offensive line really is (e.g., USC Trojans). Did anyone else notice that when Matt Lienhart dropped back to pass last season, that he was rarely ever touched? I can't wait till we get back to having those type of offensive lines at Bama. Hopefully this coming season will be a huge step in that direction.

I guess I've "blocked" most of that from my memory, but how did Bama manage 18 points?

Also, it looked like about half the sacks were created by good coverage (at least on the first receiver option) and by the time BC went to his second option the pocket was callapsing.

At any rate, bad memories.

Thanks. I tried to keep things focused on Brodie as he dealt with everything throughout the game as that was my goal when I started the project.

I think that Oline will get better. They were just young and very inexperienced. I really like Caldwell. I think he'll develop into a nice interior linemen.

that was a pathetic showing by our oline. you'd think they would've gotten in front of somebody, even if all they did was slow 'em down for a few minutes.

you can feel brodie's pain.

Indeed. This will sound extremely odd, but I thought it was one of Brodie's best games. It's not about stats but about the intangibles. In the very end of the vid, you can see how badly he wanted to win that came. But ultimately, there were too many things that were out of his control.

Brodie was/is a great competitor and will do well in the Chiefs organization. He loved Bama, came to Bama during very trying times and is the catylist that brought Bama "back" to a 10 win season. I know the defense was great and are the main reason for our success last year but the loss of Brodie in '04 (after a very successful start to the season) showed just how much he meant to the team.
I don't want to dis the young men on the OL but they were mostly inexperienced and VERY THIN in depth. Had Brodie came thru Bama during "normal" times (even with the injuries) he would have won a championship (at least SEC) and probably been the top NFL QB pick.

After the team dug themselves into a 21-0 hole BC and a stiffer D made the game competetive in spite of the 11 sacks. The belief that Tubs "called off the dogs" is BUNK.

The O-line was just getting blown up. It was pretty pathetic...but I have confidence in the 2006 O-Line.

As far as SAGA45, I'm 99.999999999% sure you didn't make that video. You may have changed the music or something, but that video is quite old.

Then you're 99.999999999% wrong.

Actually, the video is quite new. Spent the last week or so putting it together. Trust me, I made it. And you've never seen it before now. Thanks for the compliment though.

Hey Folks!

This thread was started because he wanted to discuss how tough Brodie was during the Iron Bowl.

We can continue along those lines, if you wish...if not? We'll lock this one down and move on.

Try to be social, ok?

Terry

Geez, 11 sacks and 14 knockdowns. Probably the worst game ever for a BAMA O-line. Wonder how long it took before Brodie started speaking to them again?:frown:
