Oh no. Heck no. Let me clarify...

I see this playing out like 2021 did and I agree with you that I think it is setting up for us to be big underdogs and the whole world talking about how they and their cyborg TE are going to throttle us. And we throttle them.

Well this time, there will be no rematch. The SEC won't get 2 teams in. I don't care if Georgia is 12-1 after an SEC championship game loss. Their SOS sucks and there are too many other good teams in the rest of the P5 conferences.
I dig. The game is going to be huge and I am not saying we are going to totally throttle them. At least, that is what I say now :) We will continue to scratch and claw our way to the SECCG and suspect we will have to continue to grind it out to get the victory over the dogs. But I like our chances...I really, really do.

The Georgia that played so poorly against the barn will NOT be the same Georgia that we face IF we make it to the SECCG. They didn't exactly squeak by Kentucky last week. Granted, that's just Kentucky, but that could have been the game where the pieces begin to come together. We haven't had such a game yet
So, let me get this right…

If we make it to the SECCG, and Georgia makes it to the SECCG…

Georgia will come in with a vastly improved and well prepared team…and play like no one has seen them play this season…

But Bama will continue to wallow around in the mud…almost regressing into the game ?

To be fair, we won't be the same team that struggled against USF, either.

We must have our absolute A game, should we make it to the SECCG. We must have the best performance we've had since we beat them in the 2021 SECCG. Anything less wouldn't do

We've moved in the right direction since then. But we haven't had that complete game in all 3 phases yet. If everything falls into place and we do like we did two years ago against them in the SECCG, then I'll take that all day long. It wouldn't hurt to have a "make the opponent quit" game prior to that.

I said before the Texas AM game that Jalen would have to win the game with arm and prove that he can be a passing qb for us to be successful. Far exceeding my expectations, he did. IF..IF Jalen and the team continue to improve, I'm not sure anyone can beat us. But if our Oline doesn't get it together or we continue to show inconsistencies, then I think we could very easily lose at least two more games. It is all going to come down to player execution. We have the talent and coaching pieces this year to go all the way. But we also have the potential to do a repeat of last year and massively underachieve relative to talent on hand and preseason expectations.

I would be remiss if I did not at least draw some comparisons to some of Bama's teams or some of the medias penchant for putting Bama to rest yet once again. It occurred 50 something years ago.

For you younger fan this is a deja vu for those of us who grew up during the Coach Bryant days. Coach Bryant was also faced with he is too old and tired to continue coaching. Recruiting was not the ugly animal it is today. The players lost a year of eligibility if they decided to transfer, and as we all know no NIL money ( I agree with CNS, NIL is ruining the game of college football.

So I read Chris Lowes article ( one of the few at ESPN that still has some gray matter between the ears). We did not have the media coverage as we do today and not internet, but we had newspapers. I will not pontificate on the two daily newspapers that Birmingham had and most major cities did back in those days.

Coach Bryant unleased the Wishbone on USC in 1971 and we owned most of the 70's ( Darrell Royal and Emery Ballard at the University of Texas taught CPB and the staff the new offense).

I am so glad I am living part of the dream again. RTR
https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/...d it was time, field in the wishbone formation.
