Have any guess where Nutt is going. Nutt was not fired he turned down $2.4 million annually to remain coach.
The way he was treated by those fans I can't blame him. He had time remaining on his contract so he'll get a buyout and I'm sure Sexton will place him somewhere else; hopefully for his sake with less meddlesome fans.

they'll miss him.

they can find a better coach, but they won't find one who loves the university more.

they can find a better recruiter, but they won't find one who can motivate his players to play for him or the school more.

in reality, arkansas is an 8 win team with the occassional 9 or 10 wins.

he was an 8 win coach, with the occassional 9 or 10 wins.

he's a good coach and he was a good fit for the school.

in a few years i think they'll wish they had him back.

All self-inflicted. Nutt has completely alienated the fan base through his arrogance, refusal to accept responsiblity, blaming everyone and everything for the teams failures, the heinous treatment of players, coaches, and fans to the point that as long as he's here he can't win enough to win them back. We just defeated LSU at their place, number one team in the nation, polls were done at several tv stations thoughout the state and the results were anywhere from 75-85% of the fans still want him gone. You refer to meddlesome fans, no different here than coaches at UF, Bama, Auburn, FSU, and others.

FWIW, PC at 6:30 over here. Can't wait.

If indeed Nutt turned down an extension and resigned of his own will, it's a smart move. Even if he stayed, he'd only be one 7-5 or 6-6 (or worse) season away from being let loose. And there likely won't be near as many good openings in the next couple of years as there are now.

Hindsight is perfect. He had a great opportunity with Nebraska a couple of years ago. Nebraska has the vacancy, but Nutts stock is not quite as good right now.

The past 2 years (18 wins) have been the best for Arkansas since they entered the SEC in 1992.

Nutt ought to be glad to get out of there. He's quite mad, but he's shown himself to be a capable coach that can field competitive teams that will sneak up and beat anyone.

If Alabama lacked the cajones to fire Shula when it did, do you really think as many D1 coaches would be getting the axe this year? Honestly--A&M fired Fran (regardless of what "they" say), Arkansas fired Nutt, So. Miss fired Bower, Michigan showed Carr the door, Notre Dame may get rid of Weiss (with good reason)... So many coaches who had been offered contract extensions are being let go, and the media is practically praising the schools for it. I honestly believe the Alabama being ahead of the curve in terms of getting rid of a coach who wasn't getting it done, regardless of the record, has led to schools getting rid of their coaches with much less timidity.

That man has been living off of DMac for three years. Did anyone really not see this coming?
That's so true, I guess. Cause I have to admit that I had been thinking he'd get another year if Felix came back.

Then again, gosh, Arky was in the SECCG just last year. Are expectations that high around there?

You have to admit, Coach Nutt was a fiery character who "always" gave you a fight...

I do not blame him for leaving, the situation there was always tipsy-turvy.

Even though I lived to hate him, I admit he was truly a honorable opponent.

Wish him luck with his future, for there are many jobs available! lol

This is where the national press and othes are missing the point entirely....it's reached the point where wins and losses have nothing to do with it. It's about integrity and that is something Nutt will never have. Emails being traced to the Nutt home computer where "someone" would love to participate in the beating of Mustains mother with a 2x4 doens't exactly ring of class, does it?

Arkansas will be fine. Not sure who the new coach will be but if faced with the possiblilities of Nutt returning or taking a wild stab at who's behind door #3, we'll try our luck with the door. Contrary to perception, the Razorback Foundation has the $$$ to hire the right person but since our new AD Long, served at the feet of OU's Castiglone (sp?), wouldn't surprise me if he follows OU's path and reaches out for a up and comer like a Stoops.

Just saw a report that Nutt finalized the deal late last night to become Ole Miss HC...DOn't have a link yet, but if true, I think he will do a good job there without somebody like Broyles looking over his shoulder

Well your fans got their wish, now I hope they enjoy losing to him every year. In a few years Arkansas will feel about Nutt like I'm sure Ole Miss felt about Cutcliffe during the Ogre fiasco.

To the best of my knowledge none of those schools (no school in my memory) has ever had fans requesting a coach's cell phone bill under FOIA or hired airplanes to fly banners over games requesting for the coach to be fired. With that type of fan "support" of one of your own, I hope that foundation has a truckload of money to try and hire someone decent.

LOL....Sexton is not Hudini. Maybe the Governor should hire Sexton as well.
Sexton may not be Houdini but he's DARN good at what he does, as you now see. There's a reason Nutt's name kept coming up during our search, even though we weren't interested. I hope the Arkansas fans get to enjoy getting what they wanted, not that I particularly care for Nutt, I just enjoy watching karma in action.

UF fans flew banners saying "Fire Zook"

Not sure how credible it is, or if it's been reported yet, but my friend, a big hog fan, just told me that it;s confirmed that Cowher interviewed there today.
