Spring Game to be aired on ESPN

I don't have a link, but during his segment with CM Newton; Finebaum said it has been announced that the spring game will be aired on ESPN. Should be very good national exposure!!!!!!!:BigA:

Re: Spring Game to be aired on ESPN

While other schools were crying about Alabama and its huge Spring Attendance and trying to explain that BAMA fans had nothing better to do. Coach Bryant was right the barners and others just do not take their football serious. The truth be told I knew this was going to happen. Alabama will bring in 93,000 for the A-Day game. ESPN saw something and ran with it. ESPN gets paid and so does Alabama.

"I can not wait for the excuses now. We support our team just not as much as Alabama".
The Alabama Fans have nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon. They are right we do not. I love Alabama Football and everything about it. Not sure what the barners and others do on a Spring Game Day but how do they explain Alabama's good fortune with Spin now. They can't say The BAMA fans only showed up because ESPN was on hand. What Excuse will the BAMA haters use this year about not supporting their teams. Lets just tune in and find out.

Who else would ESPN put on?

Re: Spring Game to be aired on ESPN

This is great exposure. And we've really got to show up and pack the house. I mean we're coming off 2 straight great years as far as attendance, we're coming off of a great season that saw us totally gain respect back, another top recruiting class and I think ESPN expects us to pack it out. The fact that we have so many key battles or positions to look at make it that much more interesting.

Pulled this off Topix.

Well who else would be worthy of the First Team to be Nationally Televised for their annual A-Day Game. Apparently only a couple of teams like OSU and Nebraska gave Alabama a run for the money. BAMA 2007 93,000 plus, 2008 78,000 plus. ESPN will Pay Alabama 1.2 million for the broadcast. Alabama fans love their football. Others just have more important places to be on a spring saturday but fail to say where. If you do not take your football serious you do not get your spring game on ESPN for the World to see.
Not sure about the payment amount but I like the write-up.

I hope this will put to rest the perception by many Bama fans of being "dissed" by the four letter network.

They crunch numbers and act accordingly. Don't take anything they do personally, on the cooperate level. Now as for the talking head on air personalities,.....that's a different story.

Yeah, lets get into the stadium and fill it up for the national audience. This should be a good recruiting tool. They can talk about the stadium renovation too.

It just gets better and better.

Second straight top recruiting class coming off an improbable 12-2 season.
ESPN national audience and packed house for spring game.
Likely top 5 or 6 start for next season.
Opening game in Georgia Dome on national TV against another likely Top 10 team.

Good times!!

“That positive energy and enthusiasm by our fans has had a significant impact on our success. I encourage all of our Crimson Tide fans to fill Bryant-Denny Stadium on April 18th and show everyone why we have the best fans in the land. There’s nothing better than coming out of the tunnel to a full stadium, whether that is A-Day or at our home games in the fall.”
What CNS wants...CNS gets...'nuff said.

Great news, We wanted a proven head coach this time around and we got the Donald Trump of the football world. Just when you think theres nothing else he can do he pulls another rabbit out of the hat. The media attention along with a packed house will have recruits buzzing for years.

This is awesome. I'm going to be in Denver that weekend and was worried about not getting to see it.

This way I can watch it live and DVR it at home as well.
