LOL! Here I am thinking I've got to get up at 5:00 AM for my regular AM exercise and that this student could keep me answering all night long. :D Well, the team docs (not just Fowler) have said "no play." That was the reason that a second opinion was being sought, last I heard, and that's by the Knight folks, not by the team. The bottom line is that EK would die to play (unfortunately), and CNS would love for him to play. However, CNS' statements have been pretty strong on the subject. It's necessary to really parse his words to find any wiggle room at all. My guess, and it's only that, that CNS is holding out that 5% or so, but it's so remote that we're only spending time on this because it's the off-season. Well, that, and the fact that we need competent LBs so badly...
Thanks for clearing that up for me Earle.

Have him sign a release and put him out there. It's his life. Who am I to tell him not to risk it?
Cold -- for a player who has represented the university well and is close to getting his degree.

Clearly, Zeke has some serious medical issues or he would be playing given that his is a LB and what position is Alabama really thin at? -- Ding -- LB.

It is so hard to be told he can't play the sport he loves and is very good at when he probably feels fine. You have your whole life ahead of you Zeke so don't risk losing it early.

Good luck whatever your decision

CNS Announces Alabama Linebacker Zeke Knight Medically Disqualified- Rolltide.com

Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced Wednesday that senior linebacker Zeke Knight has been medically disqualified.

"Zeke Knight has been medically disqualified based on a medical condition that we cannot disclose due to student privacy laws," said head coach Nick Saban. "He has had extensive medical evaluations by numerous physicians, all of which concluded that it was in his best interest to no longer play football."

"Zeke is a fine young man and we appreciate all that he has done for this program," said Saban. "Zeke did a great job for us as a starter last year and, more importantly, is on track to graduate in August. I would like nothing more than to have him with us for one more season on the football field, but unfortunately that won't be the case after consulting with the doctors and medical staff on numerous occasions. I wish him and his family nothing but the best. Zeke Knight will always be a part of the Crimson Tide family."
