As Alabama fans we live in the past. We post about it, we talk about it, we even hang pictures on our walls about the past. Someone needs too look at the dates on those championships, its ancient history. The program came to a grinding halt in the early eighties. We had some success in the early nineties but nothing concrete. We have all, including coaches and players, have come to the conclusion that a 6-5 record is acceptable! Sure we can talk about the probation and unfair treatment, people whinning and so on. But noone is doing a damn thing about it! Look around the SEC, those teams are not looking to the past for answers but to the future of the game. Im not saying fire anyone or even pointing fingers. I just see a storied program dead in the water, not much unlike the Golden Domers of Notre Dame!

If everyone accepted...

a 6-5 record, we wouldn't have had 350 people online yesterday, yelling at each other. I know some of the players and coaches, and, believe me, they're hurting worse than anyone on this board...

exactly. as much as a drunken internet poster thinks his world has been turned upside down, these kids feel it 10-fold. Unfortunately, we can't do much but watch as we try to rebuild and make steps forward.

i agree,i love the university of alabama and have for over 30 years,i'm as die hard as they come,but i even get tired of hearing about the past ,if it didn't happen in the last ten years then it doesn't have much appeal,the recruits can't even remember it.....sure we may be back someday.....but right now mid tier is being really nice,our recruiting class looks ok but there are several sec schools putting classes ahead of ours.......and we don't have the coach anymore.......
