As background, Brooks was the young man that transferred to LSU from Arkansas. The family is involved in a lawsuit with LSU concerning misdiagnosis/treatment of Brooks when he began to exhibit symptoms that later turned out to be a rare former of brain cancer.

From the article:

Brooks and his father said in an interview with Good Morning America that they have not received word from the LSU coaching staff, and Kelly in particular, since Oct. 2023.

"Specifically Brian Kelly," Brooks' father said. "My son almost lost his life, Coach. Where were you? Forget about football. Pick up the phone and say you love the kid, man."

LSU is going rue the day they hired this terrible human being.

This guy just doesn't care....that's why he's killed a kid and apparently almost killed another.

The only explanation that doesn't make CBK out to be a villain is he was not able to contact the young man and family due to the lawsuit. I highly doubt this was the case and CBK once again shows he is only concerned with what is best for himself and his own future.

Not defending Kelly, but how do you see what happened to this kid as Kelly's fault...?

He is definitely not sympathetic. He is most definitely pathetic.

The lawsuit filed last fall alleged that trainers misdiagnosed Brooks' cancer and that surgeon Brandon Gaynor left him with "catastrophic neurological injuries" that left him "permanently disabled" during the treatment. It also claims that LSU football coaches threatened his starting job and forced him to play through his illness, which he reported during Aug. practices ahead of the 2023 season.
