I'm with you on Lonesome Dove. Someone told me it was a miniseries, not a movie, so I didn't list it. Gus (Robert Duvall), Woodrow (Tommy Lee Jones), and the rest of those characters are timeless. Another plus was Miss Lorena, played by 23 year old Diane Lane.
not on my initial list but I will stop and watch The Magnificent 7 every time I see it on AMC or TCM.
I enjoy the miniseries, but love the book. The book is so many times better than the miniseries that I would have a hard time listing it too.
You gotta admit one of the greatest CYA's of all time was when the mechanic guy from Wings wrecked Giamatti's car to explain to his fiance what happened after the girl he was with beat the hell out of his face when she found out he was getting married in two days.
You do realize the last one was highly fictionalized, and the men who were there are pretty bitter about their plight being trivialized.
