Bama vs Texas in the RoseBowl stadium in Pasadena for the National Championship. My brother and I were visiting relatives in San Diego, and decided to drive to Pasadena for the atmosphere. We went with no tickets, but found a pair for $300 walking down the hill to the stadium. They were on the 40 yard line, 20 rows up, behind the Bama sideline.

It was an amazing game, but we also enjoyed watching the beautiful transformation of the “Big Hat…Big Mouths”

…..of course…..if Colt hadn’t gotten hurt…..you know 👀

Shoot, this is hard.

2011 - BCSNCG in NOLA - Bama dominates LSU! Hard to top that one.

Then 2012- BCSNCG in Ft. Lauderdale - Bama kills ND - pretty close to year before but in terms of excitement, it was like walking your dog in the park!

But I'll throw in one that may surprise you: 2012 TAMU and Johnny Football at BDS. Lost the game, but what an atmosphere (and in the end the season turned out OK!).

One more: 2007 Bama comes back to win over Arkansas on a JPW pass. Stood just a few feet from a recruit named Julio Jones on field level near the endzone and winning catch. That place lit up and from field level it was pretty loud!

2009 LSU- Julio took the screen pass to the house. I was sitting front row of the end zone as he ran towards us.

1996 Iron Bowl- Legion Field was ROCKING after Dennis Riddle’s game winning reception.

2007 Tennessee- Absolutely a beat down. DJ played out of his mind.

1994 Vandy- my very first game. BDS felt like it was 150 degrees.

I'm not sure about "favorite", but the 1983 Iron Bowl was probably the most memorable. First of all, I was in jr. high, and memories then tend to be larger than life. This was a roller coaster, back and forth game made all the more dramatic by it being in the 50/50 split Legion Field. It is completely insane to me to think that 80000+ people stood there in torrential rain during a tornado warning as the game carried on. And seeing Bo Jackson perform that day, even if for the bad guys, was one of those jaw-dropping, shake your head, "how will I ever fully explain what I saw" moments.

1992 inaugural SECCG in Legion Field. I was in HS and our athletic booster club worked a concession stand for YarTay on the second level directly in the North end zone. When there were lulls or we weren’t wrapping hot dogs I got to go out to tunnel and stand and watch the game. I saw a lot of the game. I was standing there in the tunnel when Antonio Langham intercepted the pass and weaved his way through traffic scoring the game winning touchdown. It got so loud that a friend who was with me couldn’t hear me yelling from just inches away. Something came flying from the stands above us. Initially thought it was ice and then realized it was sugar cubes raining down.
Another favorite was when Penn State came to town a few years back. I remember as a little kid the battles Alabama and Penn St had. To be there with those iconic uniforms on the field was special to me.

Oh man you saw a good one.

Whipped their butts and then Gmac comes in to throw a Dagger TD to Maze to rub it in…lol

Good Times.
We were in the total opposite corner (diagonally) of the stadium from Gmac’s throw, so it was not possible for the ball to be any further away from me. Even still, I could tell it was an absolute DIME!

Bama- Notre Dame, was with my uncle we were sitting in the endzone, every one stood up when Bennet came off the edge! 2009 UT game, my son and I, sitting opposite end of field, I couldn't tell if he blocked it, but my son let me know quickly! Now my son and I are taking he's boys this year to a game, their first, ages 13,10 looking forward to great memories!

So many.

1981 Auburn -- Bryant wins 315 and Linnie Patrick ran wild in the 4th quarter.
1985 Auburn -- Van Tiffin kick
1992 Miami (actually January 1, 1993), but I didn't see that one in person...watched it on TV
2005 Florida -- the loudest that stadium has been for a whole game
2009 UTe -- the loudest single moment when Cody blocked the kick
2011 LSU in the Super Dome -- didn't cross the 50
2015 UGA in Athens in a rainstorm. Curb-stomped the Dawgs after they showed their hindquarters taking the field.
2018 UGA in the NCG -- 2nd and 26

But I think my favorite was the 2008 season-opening game against Clemson. We were significant underdogs going in -- I think 10 points or so but could be mistaken. Opened up the game looking like the Alabama of old, running the ball down vaunted Clemson's throat. By late in the 2nd quarter, Clemson's QB was hopelessly rattled and their D was turning down hits. By the 3rd quarter we had MTAQ.

After a 25-year walk in the wilderness (1992-94 oasis acknowledged) I knew we were back, and it was not a fluke or a flash in the pan.

No, it didn't win a championship of any kind. But it served notice to the college football world that Alabama was, as Kirk Herbstreit said, a two-deep tree shredder running at full bore.

It was a glorious feeling.

For similar reasons, I would have said the 1971 USCw game that unveiled the wishbone. But I didn't see that one in person. It wasn't even on TV.

I’d probably trade every in stadium experience I’ve ever had to have been at that game.

I vividly remember watching that game with my Dad.

One of the most satisfying wins and upsets in Bama history.
As my buddy and I walked into the Superdome, the ticketless fans outside were offering us $750 each for our tickets...I said NO WAY, I'm not missing this...LOL!
