Why is the left wing so dumb? Happy Holidays means "Happy Holy Days." and Season's Greetings means Christmas Season. Has anyone ever told you Season's Greetings at the Forth of July? Of course not. So, when they think they are taking religion out with those two phrases they are actually promoting it. Talk about dumb people who think they are so smart!

Nan and Wood, it's nice to see that some people haven't lost sight of the true spirit of Christmas--to make sweeping generalizations of ignorance about half the country. Kudos! And Merry Christmas to you too.

 Christmas dates back over 4000 years - well before the birth of Jesus.

Christmas was originally a pagan festival traced back to early mesopotamian God Marduk. The Persians, Babylonians, ancient Greeks and Romans all had end of Dec celebrations.

Have you ever heard Christmas called Yuletide? Yule is a Pagan word. We Pagans want our holiday back!

My point exactly. Even Yuletide has religious meaning. Christmas always has been a religious holy day and calling it by other names does not change the fact, it just shows ignorance or naivete'.

Christ's birth is probably not on December 25 - most biblical scholars think it was closer to July. However, Christians have chosen to celebrate the birth of Christ on this date - maybe it does coincide with some other "pagan" celebrations, but who cares? Why does the PC crowd insist that the word Christmas and ANY symbolism related to such be removed? It is ridiculous. It seems that the PC crowd bends over backward to avaoid upsetting anyone except Christians, who they seem to hate.

I agree Hawk. I am not religious, and mostly liberal, but totally agree with you. I am not offended by including jesus or any of the other religions during the holidays. I have more things in my life to worry about. Some people just need to learn to pick their battles.
By the way, have you ever heard George Carlin's take on this euphamistic language of today. ie. When did toilet paper become bathroom tissue, and retarded become special? It's all the same, we just try and cover it up.

Me too on why is it a big deal to have religious ornaments on a religious holiday. Kind of like out-lawing flying the U.S. flag on July Fourth or saying we can't wear anything red, white and blue. And we can't call it Independence Day, we must say Early Summer Day.

This whole thing is frickin' hilarious. This is the first time I've EVER heard of people getting offended when someone wished the well. I guess some people just HAVE to have a bunch of petty nonsense to gripe about. You know people have really lost their perspective when "Happy Holidays" and "Season's Greetings" are considered offensive.

Wake up. The only way to keep Christ in Christmas is to have an appropriate attitude of worship. What somebody says to you while you're doing holiday shopping at the department store has NOTHING to do with whether Christ is part of Christmas. Worship is what matters, not shopping.
