Here's my point...ok yeah we whoopped up on some gators last year, but...do you not think that Prothro will be giving them guys some sort of speech. I mean let's remember, it was this game that has kept #4 from playing this season (possibly ever again, but God i hope that's not the case) I guess i'm just saying that i think these players might be playing for Prothro as much as the Gators are wanting to play for their respect.

I think he is speaking of the Gator fans that cheered at BDS while Prothro was lying on the field injured. Revenge against the Gator nation, not the players. The Florida fans are so classy.

I know DJ stepped up big after Prothro went down last year. He knew the success of the passing game depended on him. He even said he played the Tennessee game for #4. No doubt in my mind that DJ and KB have been hearing from Prothro all week so far about this game. It's not revenge...it's more like playing for Prothro. It's more like those two receivers have a purpose that is beyond winning the game. That's what it's all about right there.

I always fail to grasp why players who

-often have their college education riding on their scholarship
-have already invested a substantial amount of time and energy in preparing to meet their athletic goals
-are going into a hostile environment to play an important conference game
-are going to play the 5th ranked team in the nation (in this case)
-are going out to play in front of about 90,000 people and a nationwide television audience

should need some additional gimmick to be motivated.

AMEN! stlimprov you have said it all! That's what shocks me about our team, how uninspired they seem to play at times...example barn '05...worse performance I can ever remember from a Bama team and especially against our arch enemy. Unbelievable! Wish I could put into words what I really feel about that game - still ain't over it!
