***FlaAtl @ *Ubarn Gamethread***

It wouldn't surprise me at all if that happened.

AJ, you have hit the nail on the head. I haven't decided yet, but I am thinking AU may go to Columbia and upset the Shamecocks. I certainly hope I am wrong, but the Shamecocks are playing at a highly dysfunctional level and the boogs might just pull the upset!

It wouldn't surprise me at all if that happened.

This is about Keys.

Garcia found Freddie's long lost key to the SEC refrigerator.

I don't believe that a Gator Coach Spurrier would have given the keys to his offense to someone that already keyed someone's car as a freshman. Times sure have changed.

I hope every SEC team *U plays the rest of the year lays half -a- hundred on them. I don't see Spurrier, Muschamp, Miles or Petrino taking their foot off of the throttle, but I could be wrong. I just hope their defenses can control *U's dipsey doodle offense.

Boogs just can't enjoy success. Coming off the NC and losing their experience, they melt down because they fall off like any sane person expects them to.

Or maybe they're just stupid.

Maybe? :) I'm already starting to see less and less barn clothing and car flags. If they keep this up, if the eagle has any sense, he'll clear the press box next time and keep on flying before the season is over.

What you are about to see is the most rational, logical post EVER on ITAT. They are so out sorts that they have let their guard down, and are questioning not only Roof, but Chiz's competence, and are pretty universally praising CNS (no, SERIOUSLY!). Can't say I've ever seen them like this, and their ominous October slate isn't even here yet. Stock up on the popcorn, boys and girls - This is going to be brutal Oct for the boogs - with exclaimation point being CNS' Halloween B day!;)

Did CGC and the Roofer have words towards the end of the game?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought I caught someting after FAU made a play, or maybe CTR was yelling at a player. Anyone else catch that?

That was it, I just caught the tail end of it and wanted context. Just mad the players gave up the play I guess.

I noticed it as well. Don't know what happened in their discussion but CTR's reaction was not positive as he left.
I would rather be part of a family than part of a process.

CTRs side of the ball gave up more yards to FAU than they gained in their 1st 3 games COMBINED!!!

I'd imagine if your department was failing miserably your boss would proably have something to say about it and you probably would not like it...

Re: Did CGC and the Roofer have words towards the end of the

On that particular play they ran the ball up the middle. One of our defenders (#19) came down the line and had a clean shot at the running back at the line of scrimmage. Rather than tackling the ball carrier, our guy stutter stepped a bit and then hurled himself at the running back. Rather than putting his shoulder into the back, wrapping him up and tackling him he actually turned his body enough to hit the running back with the back of his shoulder. The back never flinched as he kept running. Our guy glanced off of him and landed on his backside. The runner picked up about 8 yards and a first down.

The camera cut to the sideline and it did appear that there was a bit of a heated discussion going on between chiz and roof. There was another coach standing there talking as well. It looked like Gus, but I couldn't tell. Either way, Roof seemed to be hearing about it.

I think Chiz was mediating the conference.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps it was a conflict in opinions between Roof and Lolley. Lolley would prefer to line up in press man and go agressive on every down.

Leap.....and the net will appear.

Another example of going for the knock-out blow as opposed to a sure tackle.

I saw Bates attempt to wrap up instead of go for the kill shot on one play. He had both arms around the ball carrier and the FAU back just shook him off like he was a rag doll. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Our philosophy of putting undersized linebackers on the field needs serious reexamination.

This isn't exactly a new concept. Howard Schnellenberger pioneered the use of smaller LBs way back at Miami, Jimmy Johnson then perfected it with his Big 12 option experience. CTT took that philosophy to AU. But you're giving up size for speed, so if you're not getting the speed then you're giving away size for nothing.

we are small at LB,but we make that up by being slow....might as well have fun with it because i have doubts that it gets much better this year

Bates is a safety and has no business playing LB. That is his biggest problem and not his fault. It is telling of our lack of LB's though.

That's the point. We're not getting the speed. Our LB's are small, slow, and constantly out of position. Have you ever watched bama's defense? Their LB's are blazing fast , and they're all 6'2 to 6'4 and 225 to 250 lbs. Hightower at 250 lbs routinely catches opposing backs from behind. Small doesn't mean fast and big doesn't mean slow.

Chizik and saban are polar opposites. Chizik takes hs safeties and moves them to linebacker. He takes hs LBs and moves them to DE.

saban takes fast hs DE's and moves them to linebacker. He takes hs linebackers and moves them to safety.

From what I've seen on the field, saban's philosophy appears to work a lot better.

The other coach was Lolly and the play was after we had the blitz on and didn't pick up the receiver out of the backfield. CGC was all over CTR for that play. Thats the way I saw it. It was game emotion and our HC being what he suppose to be. He was upset and he had a right to be. Nothing more and nothing less.

I have to agree with you. The turds and who's both have frightening defenses. At least physical appearance wise.

Watched one of the B'ham news casts tonight. They were showing clips from post game interviews. Chizik went on about how poorly they played all game, then later they showed a Barn player talking about it being a "satisfying" win and a great bounce back week. Something just isn't right there (not that I mind :) )
