This time, Carter stepped over the line. Information revealing the status of Israel's defense systems needs to remain classified. Last week he revealed that Israel has 150 nuclear weapons. The Middle Eastern nations (Iran and Syria) will use this to justify their right to have their own nukes.
Carter needs to shut up. I am sick of him nosing around where he does not belong.

Who cares? The world has always known about those Nukes. Israel isn't that special. Our relationship and catering to them is part of the reason for 9/11 anyway.

Israeli nukes have been the worst kept secret of all time. Heck, we probably gave them the technology. We gave them every other high-tech weaponry we've developed (jet planes, armaments, etc.).

But I'm not sure how M.A.D. would work in a region where all of your neighbors are truly MAD (as in freaking crazy).

That has always been the argument of the Middle East nations, to why they want to attain Nuclear weapons. The world has known for years about Israel and there Nuclear arsenal. That is why the rest of the World laughs when we make our little political photo-ops every 6mo. or so, to demonstrate our loyalty. Yes, we have to make an effort with the situation involving the Palestinians, but our little 2 day trips and little 10 minute speeches are not going very far!!! And that goes for both sides of the aisle.

you act as if our previous presidents haven't done the exact same thing. the only difference is today the media has an agenda of sensationalizing everything as opposed to the old days when they happily agreed to be the mouthpiece of the president. politics is dirty, it is corrupt, and that goes for demos and repubs.

back to the subject of Carter. Can't he be sent to GITMO for sedition or treason or something like that. I would think that when it comes to the middle east he would realize that he keeps getting burned by it and would stop poking his nose around considering he has the anti-midas touch.

It may have been one of the worst kept secrets of all time that Israel had nukes. It certainly wasn’t Carter’s job to reveal it though. And did Israel’s enemies know that they had precisely 150 of them? I don’t know. They definitely do now.

Oh and it wasn’t Israel that flew those planes into the World Trade Center. The responsibility lies 100% with the 19 hijackers, militant Islam, and the rouge governments and people that support it. To put the blame on Israel is to let the terrorists control our foreign policy. Israel is maybe the only country in the world that was doing everything that they could to eliminate the militant Islam threat long before 9/11 was even an idea in Osama bin Laden’s twisted little brain. That is but one of the many reasons why Israel deserves our support.

I thought it was common knowledge that Israel had nukes. What separates Israel from, say Iran, is not the possession of nuclear weapons, but the open, unapologetic desire to utterly destroy other countries.

Yes. Our relationship with Israel is to blame. Or is it our bases in the Middle East? Or is it our way of life? Or is it our religious freedom? Oh, I forgot. We are to blame for the attack.
