Houston, Ms.
Ole Miss wil finish second in SEC west. I think Ole Miss will take LSU by ten points or more this week to finish 2nd inthe west behind Bama. This leaves Aub ,LSU and MSU in the bottom. Not exactly what the experts envisioned prior to September is it .

If Ole Miss finishes 8-4, they'll make me look like a genius -- that's where we picked them to finish in our preseason outlook.

One small note: LSU will actually be in the top half, not the bottom, in that scenario. You left out Arkansas.

LSU and AU have been kings of the West for the better part of this decade. I wouldn't mind at all if those two schools take a bake seat--as they seem to be doing--and allow Bama and OM to become the top contenders in the West most years. In fact, I sort of like that idea.

Moo U better enjoy battling for 3rd or 4th in the west. With their recruiting, that's their future.

Ole Miss will be fighting to consistently be 2 or 3 in the west.

it would be fitting that OM would be resurgent same as Bama. After the last extended period of mediocrity and subsequent turn around in Bama football history, One of Bama's biggest competitors was Johnny Vaught's Rebs.

Since we are off today I will be an Ole Sis fan for a day. I think the defenses are equal with an edge on offense to the Rebs. This game could be won or lost with the special teams.

I see Alabama, Ole Miss, and LSU the top 3 in the West over the next couple of years followed by AU and Arkansas with MSU slipping back to its accustomed place at the bottom. In the East it will be UF and UGA with USC and UT battling for 3rd and UK and VU slipping again to their designated spots at the bottom. The one team that could surprisingly rise is Arkansas which IMO is a huge question mark under Petrino. The overall balance of power top to bottom has shifted to the SEC West.

I was at work today and didn't see the Ole Miss v LSU game today but we're gonna have to watch out for them. Ol Less is gonna get run out of LSU in another year or two. I hear an awful lot about how Less can recruit so well but I don't see him being able to fine tune them into a team. Nutt does a great job of motivating. The next few years are gonna be interesting in the West, that's for sure.

I'm not surprised at all at how well Ole Miss has done. Many of us predicted they would make a huge turnaround under Houston Nutt and they have done just that. The talent was there, they just needed the coaching.

They already have a committment from one of the best if not the best RB in the state this year, Tim Simon, from Cordova. 6'1" 216lbs and he's rushed for 2541yds & 33 TD's this year. If they get to the finals he'll possibly go over 8000 yds for his career. He's going to Ole Miss because they want him at RB and he'll be a good one.

The kid is a good player but Ashma will probably not allow him to play at high level that is required in the SEC. There is a reason why Coach Saban would not recruit the kid for RB at Alabama. I trust Coach. Best of luck to him anyway....

Enrique Davis is also at Ol Miss. He was a top RB who committed to Auburn then rejected them when the Tony Franklyn spread was announced. Nutt always has a stable of more than capable backs on his team. If I was a HS RB I would give playing for Houston Nutt some deep thought.

If I was an offensive player in any position I would give it some deep thought. Now if you're a big time WR you may not want to go there but these smaller shifty guys that sometimes get overlooked are perfect for him. His offense really is fun to watch as long as you aren't watching your team play them. I'm sure its even more fun to play in that offense and it seems like he usually gets every offensive skill player at least 10 touches with all the Wild Rebel stuff they do. Now that he is showing he will indeed use good WRs and QBs if he has them it may increase his chance to land some good athletes in the future.

And that reason is he wanted him as a defensive player. Asthma has nothing to do with it, since the last 2 weeks he's carried the ball 65 times..and plays full time on the defense.

Ole Miss has always played hard, no matter who they play. So Im not exactly shocked by the upset. Houston Nutt has this program on the rise, and they may be our biggest competition in the upcoming years

OM may be our toughest competition in the West the next couple of years until all of Orgeron's talent leaves. Then Nutt will have to rely on his own talent--and he is NOT a good recruiter. Look at where his classes at Arkansas ranked, and look at his class at OM this year. #52 in the nation right now according to Rivals. That type of talent results in bad seasons in the future. Just like at Arky, Nutt will average 7-8 wins per year with a surprise 10 win season thrown in once every 5-6 years. Of course, that's basically what they had in Cuttclife.
