The article is a complete joke. Prime case of a journalist writing an article without ever watching any other game aside from Texas - OK match (and Penn St - OSU). It's so obvious that he's basing his entire article solely on numbers posted on the box score.

I still feel like we've done more than anybody in the nation after Texas, who has just gone through a gauntlet and probably deserve number 1.

Clemson isn't winning games, but they're not exactly crap. They've lost to some pretty good teams who have beaten some other good teams. Their defense has still played well and we ran all over it. Its not a game you should laugh at in hindsight, because we DOMINATED THEM. Ole Miss would probably be the 2nd - certainly 3rd best team Penn St would have faced all year. Tennessee is a top tier defense and we put up 30 on them, and their offense didn't give any turnovers to help us with that either. Georgia is a top 5 team in reality and we dominated them in their place...screw that second half let down crap...they were dominated. And we played Kentucky when they had their 2 best offensive weapons, and before 6 of their defensive players got banged up. Yeah Florida did better, but I doubt anybody else does...Florida's special teams or Kentucky's lack of allowed that score to get so out of wack. And I don't see why he's already putting down our "LSU victory", yeah they've had 2 bad losses, but to 2 other top 5 caliber schools.


But I don't see us going to the title game without going undefeated, so if we do what we have to do and what's certainly possible...people will shut up.
Sad, that we have to go undefeated when Florida's right in the hunt after losing to Ole Miss just a few weeks ago and USC is in the hunt with an Oregon St loss... but this stupid system rewards offense and pretty wins.

FYI...

I've read Pete's stuff for most of the season. After the Clemson and UGA wins, he had has pegged as the best team in the country and shoe in for the National Title. Now that PSU has beaten Ohio State and is undefeated, he's on their bandwagon. Basically, he picks whoever the hot team is or the team with the big win of the week and jumps on thier ship. Next week he'll be be on to someone else's bandwagon.
