Freddie Roach had surgery today!!

Just heard on Finebaum that Freddie Roach had to have arthroscopic surgery today but that it was not that big of a deal and he should only miss about the first week of Fall Practice. Come on Freddie get well we need you!!

The timing on this is a little strange, but I hope he doesn't even try to practice until he's 100% recovered. I'll assume he's smart enough to know that.

The timing's not always a matter of choice...

Somtimes, the first MRI, or even the first scope, doesn't reveal the true extent of the problem... I know.

Actually his surgery was last Thursday...

"Freddie had surgery on his right knee and will miss at least the first week of practice," Shula said. "He will be reevaluated at that point to determine his availability for the remainder of fall practice."


"Roach had participated in voluntary workouts over the summer but continued to experience discomfort from the nagging injury. He underwent surgery to repair the knee last Thursday the same day Shula was speaking to reporters at the Southeastern Conference Media Days but Shula did not reveal the injury until stories surfaced on the Internet at the beginning of this week."
