Freeze fired at the Barn

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

They'll rally around their DC to give us a game...

Maybe or Maybe not.

They canned Harsin at the exact same point of the season in 2022.

Cadillac went 2-2 and 1-2 (SEC) and we beat them by 22 points.

This year they are just a bad team just like 2022.

They will most likely be limping into the IB with a 5-6 record.

I can’t remember if a team with a losing record has ever won the IB vs a Top 5 team but my guess would be that it’s never happened.

Like I said in another thread, the barn didn't have any good options.

Now they're in competition with at least two programs that are demonstrably more desirable than they are -- Penn State and Florida. If LSU wasn't as dysfunctional as they are with internecine skulduggery, they'd be in that list as well.

But the barn has its own internecine skullduggery, so maybe that offsets and puts LSU in the category of being a better job.

JABA. I'll get some popcorn and keep the TV on.

I was expecting this after they hung 3 on the mighty Kentucky defense.

Seriously, they need to get their hat in the ring. I'm sure more jobs will be open before the season ends. If they were planning to ditch Freeze at the end of the year, there's absolutely no reason not to go ahead and pull the plug.

Not a good decision by Auburn IMO. Auburn will be competing with several arguably more desirable schools in their quest for a coach. Shoulda' waited another year or two.

Gus Malzahn would be a good catch if they can swing it. Oh wait...

The problem is that they couldn’t allow him to continue after last night. Had they lost to a decent Kentucky team or something respectable like 24-21 in a fluky game then maybe you could make an argument. But how that game actually played out was just inexcusable.

Think about this… Auburn fans would forgive him of all his losses if he were to beat Bama. Firing him after the Bama game if he were to win would be total chaos for Auburn. I think that is what they are trying to avoid.

It was the right decision but they may have waited 3 weeks too late to make it.
