Can’t answer that. Those are NFL QBs we are talking about. Still, one can question the validity to how good these QBs are. Tua very well could be better than a lot of them.
Absolutely.

This thread feels similar to a "could the best college team beat the worst NFL's team" concept question. Tua is fantastic, and I have no doubt he'll be an unbelievable pro, but there is only about 1/3 of the NFL starters I would take Tua over. T.B., NYGiants, NY Jets, Buffalo, Arizona, just to name a few.

I kinda of want to see Tua end up with the Giants. Tua with Barkley and Odell...........wowsa.

Deshaun Watson is proving to be a good NFL qb. Maybe its Hopkins that makes him look good, I don’t know. But he’s not chopped liver.

That said, can the titans trade Mariota to Alabama for Tua? After the NCG, of course.

I'll disagree with this post on two levels -- 1) Watson looks great and the Texans are currently 7-3 and the 3 seed in the AFC and 2) Brady needs that Pats system as much as any QB. If he got drafted by the Browns he'd be a financial adviser in the Bay Area right now.
"brady is a system QB" is the most basic contrarian, skip bayless sports opinion on planet earth.

i'm also surprised about watson over tua. watson is a good player. Really surprising that you have guys like watson and cousins under Jimmy G as well.

I'm not sure how this can even be fairly deduced right now?

Do you try and compare their stats from college in their 1st year as the Starter?

Do you somehow try to compare NFL vs College stats?

Eye Test??

There is just no way to really make this type of comparison yet.

All I can say is whatever stats you use I'll be shocked if there is another QB besides Tua with a 70%+ comp pct. at 12.0 YPA and a 18:1 TD:INT ratio.

If Tua can remain healthy and has another season even close to this season, the #1 draft pick in next year's draft will carry franchise changing value. Sign Tua and you can change the future of your franchise. Trade the pick for the mother load and you accomplish the same thing if you use them wisely. The NFL is going to have a hard time keeping teams with poor records from throwing games next year in the race for the bottom.

This isn't worth talking about until Tua gets in the league. Opposing defenses and not being surrounded by 5 star teammates on offense will play a factor. I do think he will be a great NFL QB, the first since Stabler, but let's wait and see how he does and what we think after he's had 2 full seasons with whatever team drafts him.

I see eight quarterbacks where I give the edge to tua... in the NFL every window is going to be tighter and you're not going to have as much time to throw... not to mention it's a lot faster... after a couple of nfl Seasons he will probably move up that list.. fun discussion though... some of the responses are head-scratchers though... think I saw where someone would take him over Goff and Wentz...

I'm probably in the minority here, but i think a lot of people are under-estimating the difference between the NFL and college.

I think that once he's in the league and has time to adjust he'll be a very good QB, but right now if he got thrown onto an NFL team this Sunday he'd struggle mightily, whereas i believe that if you took any (and i mean any one of them) starting QB in the NFL and put them on the field Saturday they would tear Georgia's defense to shreds and make it look easier than Tua would.
