Torrence is my MVP for the weekend. We don't win this regional without her.Sweet mercy that was stressful.Torrence was terrific all weekend. On to the Supers,RTR!
I'm hoping our new pitching coach can work more with her over the offseason. She could be a reliable option on the mound for us. She definitely stepped up this weekend.I've been tough on Torrence MANY times however, she was A SUPERSTAR!! I'm thrilled to see her succeed. Hopefully, this will help moving forward. DANG! That was stressful.
and hopefully a healthy Montana! We get Northwestern in the Supers.
I couldn't believe that.I was pulling for the underdog .Louisiana eliminated LSU,that was a crazy game as well.I just watched the one of the craziest things I've ever seen. In the winner take all game, McNeese took a 6-0 lead over Washington into the 7th inning. Washington hadn't touched the McNeese pitcher all game, but scored 7 runs in the top of the 7th to win the game. Crazy.
I prefer swinging early in the count as opposed to the typical "watch 2 strikes then battle for a hit" method we tend to use.We continue to swing at either first pitches or early in the count, and all we do is feeble pop ups. At least try to drive the ball or hit it on the ground and make them make a play. This may be the most anemic hitting I've seen from us all year. Not a good time for it. Headed to bottom of the 6th.
I have heard people say that you see better pitches early in the count. I have yet to see anyone back it up with data. I'd love to see some. Absent any, assuming there's no play called for the pitch (hit and run; take; etc.), what ought to matter in every batter's thinking in each at bat is the combination of count and pitch location. E.g.,I prefer swinging early in the count as opposed to the typical "watch 2 strikes then battle for a hit" method we tend to use.
