Honestly I’ve lost count and recollection of most IB screw jobs. Especially those that seem to happen in JHS.Especially the Iron Bowl in 1995
This comes up a lot on a basketball forum I use. It didn't help that Stern said the best Finals would be the Lakers vs. Lakers either. There's also a bit of evidence there since we have a ref on record as saying they were encouraged to call certain games certain ways.1) 2002 Los Angeles Lakers vs Sacramento Kings Game 6
Stern also rigged the Chris Paul trade years ago when the Pelicans were " owned" by the NBA.This comes up a lot on a basketball forum I use. 2012 Braves vs Cardinals - that's an infield fly????
It was one of the guys on "The Sports Reporters" who pointed out the obvious - BRADY HIMSELF knew he'd fumbled the ball by the way he reacted. His reaction changed a bit later, but his immediate reaction was that he had fumbled and the game was for all intents and purposes over.As a Raiders fan...THE! TUCK!!! RULE!!!! I will go to my grave saying Brady fumbled that ball.
That game always felt to me like Franchione believed way too much of what he'd heard about Alabama fans - and so he figured, "If I lose the Iron Bowl, they'll fire me, and then I can go to ATM." I know, I know, you can't get an entire team of prideful players to just lay down. But it was like he'd secretly changed the actual players on the team with some mediocre players. The 2002 Iron Bowl fiasco . . . but it always seemed like an inside job rather anything the refs did.
These are the two that burn me up the most, but almost 24 years later I still get enraged over Eric Gregg's abomination. His strike zone (for only Livan Hernandez) was even wider than his ample posterior.1983 Penn State game and 1997 NLCS was so bad that you have to wonder.
And Don Guman WAS the official that made that call. Play was on the chains side of the field and in his 37 years of officiating Don Guman was always a Head Linesman. Jack O'Rourke was the Back Judge that made the Gothard call.Since the 1983 Alabama at Penn State game was mentioned I'll go ahead and mention another Penn State game that appeared rigged and it happened just the prior season which was the 1982 Nebraska at Penn State game. Penn State was trailing Nebraska with 12 seconds left when Penn State receiver Mike McCloskey caught a pass that was clearly out of bounds, however the official said he was in bounds and the catch was good. On the next play Penn State scored a TD and won the game. They went on to win the National Championship that season. It's just too suspicious that an incorrect call that decides the game would go Penn State's way two consecutive seasons when they are playing at home against a high profile opponent.
Nope. That SB is nowhere near as badly officiated as many remember. It’s not even as badly officiated as many recent ones. 47, 52,53, 54, and 55 actually have far more blatantly missed calls that could’ve resulted in more competitive games or even different outcomes. Hell even 43 was worse.Sorry, the Seahawks did not see anything "evened out". They got screwed out of that Super Bowl title. They got there fairly and won that game fairly, but had it stolen from them.
The rule was changed in the rule book only. Since that time there have been so many blatantly obvious pass interference penalties (to any football fan) that have not been called. And when the challenge flag is thrown the bozos in the review booth almost always side with the refs on the field's initial no call. Not so sure that the NFL cares about that, but the Saints got hosed so badly that the rules got changed. Yeah, that one was huge.
Dude, stop. You are a Steelers fan and it shows.Nope. That SB is nowhere near as badly officiated as many remember.
Steelers fan or not, no 3 “questionable” calls going the other way definitively results in a Seahawks victory. They were outplayed for most of the game and could not stop the Steelers in the 2nd half. People have a bigger issue with that game mostly because the whole story of that season was a Disney like production. But when you analyze it then it’s no worse than last year when the Chiefs got every damn call in key moments vs the 49ers. But at the end of the day its hard to ignore that the score was 21-10. Hassleback was throwing horrible balls all night, and Holmgram was too stupid not to keep running the ball. But yes lets blame the refs for that game and retroactively claim that the Seahawks won that game despite overwhelming evidence that they didnt. Sounds like a Browns fanDude, stop. You are a Steelers fan and it shows.
I have felt that way in more than a half dozen games against Auburn.2019 vs Auburn. Foolishness at the end of the first half alone proved that.
Seahawks/Steelers Superbowl
Everyone technically does, but last time was probably the first time since the 90's in which I really bought into conspiracy theories about JHS. Most of our losses down there under Saban were due to them being more loose than us or just the better team that day. But 2019 reminded me of the 90's games down there where they were getting away with murder and everything was called against us.I have felt that way in more than a half dozen games against Auburn.
They have better 'Home Cookin' than any college team I can remember.
