Coaching staff turned him in after he got away and then bragged to players about it, who then informed coaching staff

His mom was pulled over, he came by buzzing over 100. Mom then blocked the cops so son could get away. Mom arrested

Player then bragging about getting away, coaching staff turned him in

Off the team of course

I've stayed away from cracking jokes about opposing teams players getting arrested.

My biggest fear about my own alma mater, the U of A, is the football "bye weeks".

Lots of bizarre info in this story... young siblings were with him, mama tried to block police, he was trying to keep her from getting at ticket, 100+ in a 25, strong odor of juju weed when they got him, he's driving an BMW X5 but has only played in 4 games in 2 years... NIL is lucrative even for the busts?

You can't cure stupid. Case #4285728.

Report: Multiple Georgia football players arrested on shoplifting charges

Two freshman Georgia football players were arrested and booked into the Athens-Clarke County Jail on Friday on shoplifting charges.

Bulldogs starting offensive guard Dontrell Glover and running back Bo Walker were arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting on Friday, according to the Athens Banner-Herald‘s Marc Weiszer. Both have since bonded out on $1,500 bonds, per Athens-Clarke County online records.

Walker was booked at 5:30 pm ET, while Glover was booked at 5:55 pm ET. Both were released roughly two hours later shortly before 8 pm ET, per online records.

“We were informed of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” Georgia deputy athletic director Steven Drummond told the Athens Banner-Herald in a statement. “This is a pending legal matter and and we will not have further comment at this time.”

Glover, who has started the last 11 games for No. 3 Georgia (12-1), is an All-SEC Freshman selection, announced earlier this week, while Walker has rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns in a reserve role this season. Walker reportedly missed last weekend’s SEC Championship game vs. Alabama after undergoing surgery for an alleged auto accident.

As SEC Champions, the third-seeded Bulldogs don’t play again until Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl, a College Football Playoff quarterfinal, where they await the winner between No. 6 Ole Miss (11-1) and No. 11 Tulane (11-2), whose first-round Playoff game kicks off at 3:30 pm ET, Dec. 20 in Oxford.

Glover was once a Bama commit. thank you for flipping!!

You literally got NIL money and go shoplifting?!?!
What is wrong with these people...
Doubt it is about money. They probably just like stealing for the thrill. Doubtful it was their first time stealing, just first time getting caught. I knew a guy in high school like this. Rich family, but stole stuff just because. He was eventually killed by a store owner that got sick of being robbed.

This... Often such behavior is associated with antisocial or narcissistic personality disorder when it is this extreme. I doubt the football guys have these issues though, just "stupid" kid stuff.
