So I'm at my sister's house this weekend in Florida. We're watching the local news this morning and there's a story about some illegals being stopped on the interstate not far from here. The vehicle they were in was from Arizona, the driver was speeding and driving erratically so they pulled him over. Turns out there were also 11 illegals in the vehicle but it was only a 7 passenger van.
So during questioning, the driver told the officers that they had come from Arizona, across to Mississippi, up to Tennessee, through North Carolina over to I-95 and then south into Florida. Why did they take this long route?
Simple - they didn't like Alabama's immigration law and they didn't want to take a chance of getting pulled over and getting deported.
IMO that in itself is what I and many others like about the law. It keeps the illegals out of Alabama.

you do realize that poem was actually a middle finger to europe and had very little to do with wanting to accept immigrants. it basically meant we will take the poorest and dumbest from europe and we still be successful bc europe sucks so much and has everything backwards. meanwhile our present dufus in chief is trying to make us look like europe. he is so brilliant i tell ya.
Notice the lack of reply. It was also a contest where she won money. Competition, liberty, and capitalism.

There's nothing to reply to. I believe in those three ideals maybe more than anyone here & have over 1100 posts that prove as much.

IYAM, building walls to keep people out of this country or making laws allowing state agents to harrass hamless people does not coincide with competition, liberty, & free markets.

Then invite them to your home so you can support them. I'm sure there will be plenty of them to take you up on your generous offer.

So you really have no point then except that you want all Americans to look & act like you & it's the government's responsibility to make it happen?
wow, that's a reach. i didnt say any of that and didnt imply it but i can see how you need for me to say something like that to validate your flawed world view.
the only thing i said or implied is that when two dissimilar cultures interact, history has shown, more often than not, that those two people will start killing each other in short order. it is what it is.
