Assuming Rod is the Man, What grade do you give CMM and Co. for the job they have done in this coaching search?

A,B,C,D,F?

I will give them an A  for CRR but give them an F- :mad2: for how this whole thing has been handled.

Yep...this has been a PR (public relations) nightmare.

Mal said he wasn't going to talk about it. He's NOT going to talk about it. If he were to talk about it, all he would be doing is answering the same idiotic questions that the media has asked all of their sources. It's only a PR nightmare because the media in Alabama and elsewhere have been printing ABSOLUTE LIES. Some people believe them, and then start to think that if anything deviates from what they say, it's CMM dropping the ball. It seems to me that he is doing his job. He is trying to find us a new football coach. Isn't it the media's job to provide actual news...and not speculation. As for PR....WHO CARES? You know what will fix PR once and for all? Winning football games. If we win, nobody will care that we didn't hire Sly Croom, nobody will care about Mike Price, and nobody will care that we fired Mike Shula.

Some people wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than steadicams following Moore and Rodriguez around 24/7 and an official press conference addressing every rumor. The problem is not Moore, it's our voracious appetite for information, and the media's willingness to feed it to us before it's done cooking.

Totally agree. One of the symptoms of living in a "microwave society".

Heh, it's true: the failures so far are nothing but a product of media-frenzy and the perceptions of impatient fans. The reality is the coaching search has basically just gotten started, and there's plenty of time left in which to complete it.

Considering that all of us have ZERO experience in multimillion dollar HC searches, I doubt that we're qualified to make a legitimate evaluation. Remember, CMM has bosses too.

:BigA: At least a B+, just for going after Spurrier and Saban (even though I'd rather have Rod than CNS). If we land CRR, then I say an A, border line A+.

IF we offered CRR and he turns us down then an F- (minus).:BigA:
