Re: Greg McElroy announces his NFL retirement via Twitter
G-Mack didn't have the arm to be an NFL QB but he was so smart it gave him a chance. He'll be better off as an ESPN analyst, which I expect him to be very soon. If not, he'll probably make a billion dollars in business. Kids a winner, and it will pay off for him. I appreciate his efforts when he was at UA. His "dance down the sideline" first down, against Florida, in the SEC title game, was one of the greatest efforts I've ever seen.
I wish him the best of luck. He won't need it.
sip
He "ain't nothing but a WINNER!"
Your mentioning
"The dance down the sidelines" brought back
great memories of GMac. That was a great and smart run for a 1st down. He's got some wrinkles up in that head that haven't been used yet.
I watched him on TV when his high school won the Texas State 5A Championship. He was a Winner then, and at Alabama, and will be on the SEC Network and beyond. That boy's got brains.
Some people just don't know when to quit. Those hits add up and some wait until it's toooooooooo late and are injured and adversely affected for life. Gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. Gotta know when to walk away! Sounds like another Texas boy, Kenny Rogers.
I think he has a very BRIGHT future. Hope he gives Bama a little love periodically even though I'm sure he will be
professionally impartial. That's something I could NEVER be. I'm Bama to and through the bone! Now, if ESPN wants an announcer who will not be impartial at Bama vs the Barn or Bama vs LSU or Bama vs anybody, I'm da Man!
"Coach!!! Coach!!!!!!! Coach!!!!!!!!! Put me in! Coach! Put me in or I'm going to pull a Tommy Lewis! Coach, where were you in 1954?"
