I like this guy, he is using the finebaum playbook to perfection, here is a sample

Alabama loves its football, and really truly insanely loves the Iron Bowl, which is why it would be disrespectful to use this day of all days to look ahead to the SEC Championship Game, when the Crimson Tide will have their arses kicked.

Oops.

Well, the heck with it. Not like I'm the only one looking ahead. Even the guy on the public-address system, the official Bryant-Denny Stadium announcer, was thinking about it. He signed off on Saturday like so

Isn't this the guy that got into it with Jay Barker on the radio. He was offended because someone dared to look at the other side of an opinion article he wrote, from what I recall.

You are correct. He is the one.

I love the way Jay handled that situation with Doyel. You could tell Jay was peeved at the guy, but Jay handled it with such class.

Alabama has a great college defense, but Florida has a great NFL offense. Any questions?
how do guys like this hold a job, this statement is ridicules .. Alabama employs an NFL style defense, while florida uses a definitely collegiate offense

I have no problem with the article. Actually, I'd like to see more of this type article... hopefully in places where the Florida players will read 'em. I want the Florida players and coaches to feel like they have the game won before the opening kickoff so all they have to do is show up and claim their win.

But just for grins, they gotta' play the game...

Re: gregg doyel of Sportsline on the Iron Bowl/his florida agenda

Here's another of his UF articles from a couple of weeks back. His neck is on the line this Saturday. lol

Don't sweat the rankings: OU, Florida best in college football
I know what the polls say. I know what the win-loss records say. I know what the BCS and the TV people say.

Forget all that -- because I know what my eyeballs say, and my eyeballs say the best two teams in college football aren't Alabama or Texas Tech. The best two teams are Oklahoma and Florida.

This is a problem, what with Alabama ranked No. 1 and Texas Tech at No. 2, but this isn't a problem forever. It's not even a problem for long. Truth is, the BCS isn't nearly as messed up as its intellectually lazy critics like to say. This has been one of the most convoluted seasons in a long time, with six truly terrific teams, but by the end of the regular season, as usual, the best two will be matched up in the BCS title game.

Re: gregg doyel of Sportsline on the Iron Bowl/his florida agenda

In the first part of his article I was totally POed. At the end he began to do just what I want from our media; convince the Gators they are the best team on the field. Just the way they did with Miami at the last MNC game.

Please keep telling the Gators and the world:
Alabama does not belong in the championship game. Alabama does not belong in the championship game. Alabama does not belong in the championship game. Alabama does not belong in the championship game. Alabama does not belong in the championship game. Alabama does not belong in the championship game. Alabama does not belong in the championship game.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Add rain to the list of things that can't slow Florida's offense. Put it somewhere between day, night, wind, early kickoffs, late kickoffs, injuries and any kind of defense known to man, then hand the list to Nick Saban and wish him luck, because he is about to coach against the Gators in the most anticipated SEC Championship Game in history, and he'd better figure out a way to score a bunch of points or prepare to explain a loss to the Alabama faithful.
Can anybody stop Florida's offense?

"Nah .... nah," Rainey said. "If we just keep doing what we're doing nobody will stop us."

Let's face it guys. We don't have a chance on Saturday. I don't even now why Bama would bother to show up...

Sometimes people don't look at the #'s. Lets look at common foes, and see how we match up.

Florida Alabama Winner
Tennessee 30-6 road 29-9 road Alabama
Georgia 49-10 road 41-30 neutral Florida (Bama stopped playing)
Ole Miss 30-31 home 24-20 home Alabama
Arkansas 38-7 home 49-14 road Alabama
LSU 51-21 home 27-21 road Florida (Baton Rouge)
Kentucky 62-5 home 17-14 home Florida

Florida has travelled only 4 times this year. 1 was a neutral site. Alabama has played in the Georgia dome this year. The only game Florida is really impressive was the Kentucky game. The other two wins for Florida had reasons why they should have been closer. Are you as scared now? I'm not. The media telling Florida they are so good will only help Alabama. Alabama has not opened the playbook all year. You will see a couple of plays we haven't run this year, and they will be big!

you know florida will be favored against the number one rated team bama, on a neutral field. i love all the gator hype, and they probably deserve it. the media loves offensive football. i remember the miami team in 92, was getting the same attention. we all know what happened. if harvin is out, that really levels the playing field. harvin is their big play guy, and best speed guy. yes, they have a few others, but, that takes one of their best away, easier to defend. i dont think tebow is going to get all the looks rushing he is use to, unless cody is manhandled up the guy. he and chapman will plug the middle. i like our chances, but even so, i still cant believe a 12-0 regular season, and the worse we can do is a sugar bowl. a no lose situation.

It's a good thing he doesn't really decide who wins the games.

We'll see what happens next Saturday. One thing's for sure is that we'll have to play our "A" game but if we do then we can definitely beat them.

I hope the Florida players start to believe they'll just walk all over us like most in the media do, they'll be in for a very rude awakening if they do! :D

Here's something that has always stayed pretty consistent.

In a championship scenario, whether it be the Super Bowl, the National Title game, or a conference championship game, the most physical team with the best defense wins about 90% of the time.

Anybody remember that bunch of roadrunners from that totally dominant and unbeatable Miami team in 92?

We are way more physical than Florida.

Plus, guys and gals, we're not exactly slow. Especially on defense.
I don't know where that perception was originated.

And a huge factor in this game. Saban versus Meyer.

I'll take my chances that we'll be just a tad bit better prepared.

Meanwhile, let those writers keep writing their doom for Bama predictions and let those announcers keep quacking.

Let's play the game and see what happens.

Absolutely. We'll write our own ending, nobody else.

I found it remarkable the way Doyel said, and I quote, " Don't ever question something I wrote."
Unbelievable arrogance.
