I've got the feeling that we're going to see a much improved Guillion in the passing department.I'm gonna say he will pass for around 175 yards and two TD'S.My wife says I'm being too optimistic but I don't think so.What do the rest of y'all think?

If the staff isn't any more comfortable with him, then he won't even get the opportunity to do much more. If they are, he could have a big day.

Based on what I saw last week, MG won't do much and SP will finish the game in the huddle.

However...I think things will be a little different this week...mainly because Holtz and SC will force us to throw the ball. CMS has said we're going to "take what the defense gives us." Even though I know what he's saying, I hate to hear that. I think our offense should dictate what the defense does, not the other way around. In the end I guess it all works out the same.

I expect to see a few more passes and more completions. I think a second week of practice on top of the game experience MG gained last week will help. I'm guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 completions on 22 passes for 125 yards. But I will say (again based on what I saw last week) I would not be surprised if SP has more completions and yards than MG. We won't be able to rely so heavily on the run this week. If MG struggles we'll definitely see SP in the huddle.

What was jokingly referred to as the QB controversy for the #2 spot will become a true controversy on Saturday.

hee hee! sorry, but i expect Spence to finish this game.

Wow...his first game didn't go as well as planned and now we're ready to give up on him already?! Let's remember that was his first start at this level and it happened to be on the road in a very hostile environment.

Hopefully there was enough time for him to work on some more passing plays this week. I really felt like the play calling was limiting him last week. I don't know that he's going to "light it up" this week...but I do expect to see some improvement.

Go get 'em MG!

I think you guys are being too hard on him, Shula called a crappy game last week and that had alot to do with his stats, you can't call your only passes on third down and expect Guillon to produce.

Guillon looked to be an effective short range passer, He needs to get some passes off to the FB, and TE, Some crossing patterns, Screens. You don't have to throw deep every time to have an effective passing game. You just need to keep the linebackers off balance a little so your running game can score touchdowns, Notice I didn't say "get yards" You can run for a million yards and it don't matter as much as a 1 yard TD run.

Man, one loss and we're ready to fire the QB! Assuredly, MG didn't have a great game statistically last week. He also didn't have a holding penalty that brought back a 26 yard gain on a screen pass. He didn't have an interference penalty that nullified an interception. He didn't fumble the ball and turn it over to Arkansas' defense. He did thow an interception, but you could argue that it was as much the receiver's fault as the QB's.

I used to think that football was a team game. If Arkansas scored more points than Alabama, the Alabama team lost the game. I'm surprised to find out that Marc Guillon lost the game all by himself.

To be quite honest, I was as disappointed as any when BC got injured and suspected that it would hurt the team some. I'm not ready to string up the 2nd string QB just because he lost his first start on the road in a hostile environment. I suspect that if it had been #13 in there with about the same results, everybody would be screaming to put #18 in.

I hope Bama wins this weekend and I hope MG has at least a decent day. I believe both will happen. Win or lose, I hope some fans don't blow out an artery over it.

Guillon's stats - 180 yards, 2 TD's, 0 int's

Hudson has a great game with 105 hard-earned yards and 2 TD's

Darby has 87 yards

T. Castille has only 30 yards rushing, but rushes for a TD and has 48 yards receiving and a TD

Caddell is the leading receiver with 78 yards and a TD

The score was Bama-43 and the chickens-17 with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, but I had to hop on my time machine and hurry back in time to take a shower and get to work this morning.

BTW the above stats are for the complete game, I listened to a minute of the post-game report while the time machine was warming up (I didn't catch the final score, sorry).

Improved QB

I think we can expect MG to be improved but I don't expect him to put up big numbers. If we can run like last week and pass for 120yd I think we'll win. But the yardage won't matter as much as his completion percentage and if he's completing passes at the right times (i.e. making first downs and sustaining drives)

Lack of time under center showed last week. he will progress as the season wears on. Just never is a good time for OJT. TE will be a bigger factor.
120 yds 2 tds 1 int.

I don't care if he passes for 10 yards or 500 yards as long as we win. It's pretty amazing that it took us fans 4 games before starting a QB controversy.
