This article is a true example of how gullible the average citizen is. Especially when it comes to condoning every move the Bush admin. makes. Where is the moral clarity and leadership, when big buisness and ballooning deficits are the hallmarks of this admin.

Shaw (president of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc.)accused the Bush administration of leading the nation into the Iraq war under false pretenses and favoring the wealthy. Privatizing Social Security and revamping the tax code will only put more money and power into the wealthy's hands, he said. Shaw also accused President Bush of using his faith to disguise his motives in the same way the devil cited Scripture in tempting Christ.

''We bite into it and swallow not just the bait but also the hook,'' Shaw said.

Shaw's message was the talk of the afternoon. It resembled the preaching of Martin Luther King Jr., said the Rev. Amos Brown, pastor of the 2,000-member Third Baptist Church of San Francisco.

Boiler,

What do you do, other than hate Bush? You are wasting way too much energy on a lost cause. He already won his last election. He cannot be re-elected again. Focus on something that will help your party...

 I think it's time for the left to come up with some new material. This song has been played and played and played and.....

Boiler

has been doing this for months now! He just can't come to grips with the fact that President Bush won! And when the hell did we start looking at Tennessee papers and calling them gospel? Get over it bro! You lost!

Boilerbama's right. The fact that Bush got re-elected don't change that. Bush's Iraq war is still doing more harm than good and he's benefiting the already-rich at the expense of regular Americans.

In fact, the fact that people voted for him again is evidence of their gullibility.

I don't care much for most Democrats either, but people who believe everything bad about Democrats, and NOTHING bad about Republicans, when its the Republicans who are right now in control and robbing the country blind and sending our troops into harms way for nothing--that's as looney tunes to me as the people who think Hillary is great and the rest of America sucks.

Heh - nice, well thought out statement.

There's one thing I will say about this - it's one of the few times I've ever heard "Baptist church" and "San Francisco" mentioned in the same sentence.

Heh.

Note, the parson didn't say Southern Baptist church.

They got 'em in SF, but they probably don't look like the all-Caucasian Baptist churches you and I attended in 'Missippi'.

Mexican, Chinese, Indian. Would Mr. Morgan approve of these assemblies? :p

They probably don't resemble the all heterosexual ones we attended in the south either. Which means they probably don't look very scriptural either.

Another enlightened American. Wow, how lucky can I get? Two of them on the same forum? Like diamonds in the rough.

Funny, I still see a lot of posters here saying how good Dubya and his war are but not too many doing anything about it by enlisting. I guess its really not that worthwhile, huh?
Excuse me while I duck :eek2:
