Cole Cubelic said this morning that it looks like he will be retained. Unbelievable even for au.
My son (the Aubie) stays pretty "clued in" on stuff like this. He said last night most are simply saying "it will be resolved one way or another by COB today". He is either in or out, and my son was saying most believe he will be retained. Unbelievable.....

Assuming that Harsin is retained, what quality OC (in his right mind) would be remotely interested in taking that job? (They would have to be significant buyout into that contract, for sure.)

IMHO, he will have to promote from within the program. THEN, the problem would be who would be interested in taking that assistant's position? They would have to find a GA to fill THAT role.

The barner PTB have really made Harsin's job a lot more difficult...

When the Aubies are “eating” their own insiders such as Marshall, Hokinson, and Marcello like a free meal at Golden Corral, it is an exceptional day…😂😂😂
Auburn insiders are pretty idiotic. You have people like Marcelo and Wilborn who are overly optimistic and know nothing, then you have people like Marshall and Cubelic that know a few things that are kinda of in the middle of optimistic and pessimistic, and finally you have people like jboy and Tate who totally make crap up 90% of the time. I would say in all honesty that Sallee and Hokinson are probably the more accurate ones in the Auburn camp because they generally don’t let stuff slip until they absolutely know what is going on.

The OC will probably be handpicked by the AD (boosters). A good deal of this moving forward has to do with the last OC being forced out for cause.

So let’s say he is retained, how much of a disaster will be Auburn be this season? 2012 bad?
Worse. I think there are only 3 guaranteed wins for them. Which makes this even more crazy. The guy is out in December regardless, and I don’t understand Harsin fighting for 4-5 million in an effort that is only going to kill his resume.

I think he'll be fine on the level at which he belongs. Someone like Fresno State, San Diego State, etc. would hire him in a heartbeat if he were available and they needed a coach.

It’s his nature. He can’t see the “big picture”. He would “tear down his entire house” to patch a hole in the roof. Some folks just can’t get out of their own way. That is Harsin.

Yeah and that fact makes it one of the dumbest hires in the history of big time football. This is only slightly better than Notre Dame hiring Faust.

As you're a fan of quotes from Batman films...some-men-just-want-to-watch-the-world-burn.gif

AU may have pushed Harsin into that position. If he thinks his coaching career (rightly or otherwise) is toast at this point, what does he have to lose?

An old boss of mine used to say, "Your friends may not always do what you want, but your enemies never will." AU has made an enemy of their own football coach. He's not likely to go easy on them...

Doesn't matter what they decided, they set back the program few years. Recruits is not coming to Auburn because of What BOT pulled. This give Harsbin time to find new job.. which I think he will. Whoever Auburn hire will have a huge mess on their hand and likely to depend on Transfer portal to fix the issue.
