"Insignificant Roy" as CNS called him last year is really having a good year. He's been anything but insignificant on special teams and he's starting to assert himself more on offense. I expect to see him get more and more playing time as the season progresses.

As for Ingram, I suspect he's a little banged up and perhaps fatigued. He plays with such intensity it's not surprising. But I expect him to bounce back down the stretch.

So he has a good game vs Kentucky and then Ole Miss and after 4 carries and another one of our backs having a good game instead of him, he'***** a wall?

Ingram's fine. Of those 4 carries he had vs Tennessee, he struggled, but I'm not so sure he wouldn't have bounced back in that game had Roy and Glen not both played well enough to keep him out of the game (I'm sure that "almost" fumble may have contributed to that too).

He tweaked something and is still probably recovering, but his ineffectiveness may just be that teams expect us to run when he is in whereas we've shown a tendency to pass when Upchurch is in.

Nah, he's just a little banged up and sometimes one guy will have a better game than the other. It's just a good thing that we've got options at tailback and can spread the rushes around without losing effectiveness.

Mark Ingram is gonna be a good back for Alabama in the years to come. He's already shown flashes this year - No hurry! Get 100% and all will work out fine.

good observation

These were my thoughts also last saturday. Teams are now scouting a tendency for a run when Ingram is in. We will need to mix it up on play calling with him in the game. Teams have to watch for the pass more when Upchurch is playing and this gives him better running lanes.

It was actually "Irrelevant Roy", not that the meaning is that much different, but it does roll off the tongue better. Alliteration, I think they call it?
I stand corrected. Either way, it seemed to have motivated Roy to be more of a contributor.

I think the question has been answered so due to the fact myself and another moderator has had to remove some posts I am closing this thread. Aight?
