I got my new insurance cards in the mail today along with the bill. Mine through State Farm has been going up ever so steadily the last year. My 2002 Jeep is only $60 less with the same coverage I might add as my 2016 Subaru. Wonder why that is and why it just keeps going up with no accidents or tickets?

just curious if everyone else's insurance has went up?

No problem here so far. I assume no accidents or you wouldn't be surprised. Maybe State Farm is raising prices, but you might want to pull a credit report just to be sure there's nothing you haven't been aware of going on. Otherwise, might be time to shop around.

It has until I switched to Geico, then Progressive, then Liberty Mutual. Now, I'm with the General or AllState or is it State Farm...?

We had switched back to State Farm last year after years of going with a cheaper company (was part of a home/auto bundle). Then we got a notice that they were jumping us from $110 to $140 so we moved over to Geico. The State Farm agent told me that new rates had come down the pipeline and they weren't expecting them to jump that much.

Yeah when I switched a few years ago to State Farm. They had competitive rates. I guess to get you to switch then they start slowly increasing. Actually mine started to decrease, but at the start of Jan. (I pay every six months) 2016, it went up. Then this coming Jan. it's going up again. Not by much this time, but last Jan. it jumped a bit. It's just weird my Jeep is older by the day, but it's only $60 less than my brand new vehicle. Weird.

We switched to Geico because it put us back to $100 a month. That extra $480 a year to State Farm would have added up on us a but too much.

There isn't as much point nowadays staying brand loyal because companies in general don't care as much. I had been with SF since I was 16 with no accidents/1 speeding ticket and yet rates kept creeping up (I know that's not the only factor).

If Geico starts creeping up too much I'll switch on them too.

Unfortunately, your rate is also based on how others drive.

I switched from Natiowide to GEICO about 2 1/2 - 3 years ago. I'm on autopay so I'm never late on a payment. Our policy renews every 6 months an I've noticed they keep raising our rates $5 a month every time the policy renews. I finally called an was given the excuse that the rate hikes are because of other drivers/accidents in Alabama. I have no accidents or tickets an I'm getting frustrated over this an seriously thinking about switching car insurance companies again.

The main reason I stay w Geico is that their roadside assistance is great. I had back surgery about 12 years ago, and the day I was set to go back to working I went out to discover a flat tire. I had a Jack and spare in the trunk, but there was no way I could change the tire.

Called Geico, and they had someone out in 15 minutes to change the flat in my driveway.

I just switched insurance companies. Saved myself a barrel full of money and my house payment is going to drop about $150 a month with better coverage.

I used to price check and change insurance companies about once a year. Then I discovered my Dad had been with his insurance company for 28 years .... and his insurance was twice as cheap as mine with the same auto and the same company. I asked our agent and he said your Dad is a long time customer and when you stay with one company for many years you get a cheap rate if your driving record is good.

I have been with ALFA now for 36 years and from time to time I check prices. I always smile when they say "we can't touch that price, you must have been with them for a long, long time."

I was with State Farm for 30 years and presented them with AMICA's quote and they wouldn't budge so...
