Terrific game today, the hogs pushed us to the limit. I certainly hope we've seen the last of Mallett, go pro young man, go pro. Whew.
We're hoping that owners lock out the players this offseason...looks like it may play out that way. If it does, so goes the theory, Mallett will return next year.

Your guys played our guys with everything they had. I hope this isn't one of those deals where your team left everything it had for the entire season on the field today. Maybe they can pick themselves up and go out there and win the rest of their games.

I also have to disagree with the "total class" comment. There was a lot of class, for sure, but the pig "snout" negates use of the word "total."

I just don't see the owners doing that, however, if they do, it could also bring back Julio, Mark, and Marcell for their senior seasons. Again, I think the owners lose more with a lockout than they win. While this is not a even comparison by any stretch, but if they look at what happened when the NHL owners did this a couple years ago and the effect it had on the league, I believe they'll find some common ground and reach an agreement. IF it does happen, he could still go pro and play in Canada! ;)

I didn't talk much smack, but I think it would be therapeutic for me to eat a bit of crow. Great game guys, now go and kill Florida. Hopefully we finish the season second in the West and get the Sugar Bowl invite...

you may, or may not, know this....if there is a lock out, the owners still get the TV contracts paid to them, and they do not have to share it with the players. And that is per the last CBA. BONEHEADED signing by the NFLPA last time.

Anyway, don't just assume the owners won't let the season die....they get paid either way.

Arkansas played fantastic and have a somewhat favorable schedule the rest of the season. They played a little "over their heads" most of the day and were able to take advantage of Bama mistakes.

The lack of a running game is what lost the game for Arkansas and could be their downfall in another game or two this year. Maybe a better way of stating it is that Bama's ability to stop the run is what won the game for Bama. (This is a more positive statement for both teams...)

I couldn't imagine that Arkansas's defense could improve as much as it has from last year until today. Mallet is the real deal. If he had the least bit of a run game he would be even more dangerous.

Good luck the rest of the way. You can, and if you play like you did today you will, clear out the rest of the SEC West teams. The way Auburn's DBs look tonight against SC, Mallet may have 500 yards of passing against them.

Somebody posted on the game thread in the 1st half that it reminded him of the start of the Auburn game. I agree more now than I did then. After we figured out what they were up to and started executing and playing our game, we took control in the second half.
McElroy made some screw ups but he took us downfield twice late in the game. That's a winner my friend. Great to see our guys so calm under duress and finish.

Question: In that next to last drive that ended with the field goal, Why did we stop running the ball? That's how we got it down the field in the first place and we just started throwing once we got in the red zone.
My thoughts as well. The first thing that came to mind was last years TN game when we stopped running near the goal line for some reason and tried passing.
If we are that close (11 yard line) in the future hopefully we won't see any more two incomplete passes and a sack before a FG attempt.

We have the two best backs in the nation and just seemed to forget about them?? :conf2: That type thinking almost cost us a game last year and could have today as well. IMO :BigA:
