I'm still shocked he won. I've gotten so used to all things Alabama being snubbed, looked down on, and falling short for so long, it's hard to believe Mark won the flippin' Heisman trophy.
Wow! That's just awesome!
Congratulations to Mark, his family, the team and the coaches. It truly was a team effort.
Well done![/QUOTE
Couldn't say it better myself. Congrats Mark and the entire Bama team!!!
Its actually quite ironic that for all the "northern yankee bias" Alabama has experienced in the past, it was the northern voters and not the southern ones that gave Alabama their first Heisman winner.Wow. I was wrong. Those northern sports folks did vote for Mark...guess it helped that he was from Michigan! But then again, he was the BEST one in there, and deserves it as well. RTR Mark, great job!
I haven't seen it mentioned, but during the show last night, Tebow was unwilling to reveal to McCoy whom he voted for. I'd like to believe, being the realist that he is, that he actually voted for Ingram. Tebow definitely had a front row seat for one of Ingram's best performances. Its actually quite ironic that for all the "northern yankee bias" Alabama has experienced in the past, it was the northern voters and not the southern ones that gave Alabama their first Heisman winner.
Its clear this time around, the jealousy and bias lay within the confines of the southeastern conference and was prevalent amongst the rival states.
I would also point out that Tebow being a participant in the voting probably pulled some votes from Ingram, just as possibly Suh pulled some from McCoy and/or Gerhart.
