Hightower Flips Florida Lineman

Those are the kind of physical hits I've been waiting to see Hightower deliver.

I think he shook off the rust in the first couple of games and now he's going all out. Remember earlier this season a number of posters thought Donta was
too slow, that he had outgrown his position.
Donta is back to full speed now, and playing like he has something to prove.

(We now have guys on Defense who have to be accounted for on every play or we will eat their lunch.)

Rolando left some mighty big shoes to fill, when he went to the pros.
Donta Hightower is growing into those shoes.

I think Donta moving back to his natural spot made more difference than shaking off the rust. Donta just didn't seem confortable in the middle, and he is playing "his" spot way better than Jerrell was.

I've edited the thread title to take "Flukered" out of the title. DJ has made enormous strides and I'm not willing to have our site hang a pejorative around his neck forever, based on one play in a spring game...

Good call Earle. I kinda cringed a little when I first read it, but I knew the OP didn't mean it in a derogatory way, so I didn't think much else about it.

Geez...did you guys watch the entire video or just the first few seconds?

Hightower levelled this guy 4 times, not just once!

What I can't figure out is why Florida ran the same play four times in a row though!

And the last play was especially slow in developing which probably explains why they didn't get a first down!

:D

Thank You Earl.

Yah, you try blowing a 30# lineman down like that...

Heck, let most LB's try that.

That's awesome...

Well i bet he could do it to a lineman ten times that heavy. :rolleye2:

I bet Brantley wakes up in a cold sweat with visions of that scene in his head.

"If Hightower did that to my lineman, what's he gonna do to me?!?!?!?!?!"

There was a Crimson wall closing in on him in a hurry in that play.

As impressive as the DL imploding the OL truly was, I betcha Saban was happier with Menzie's play on the other end of the play. Notice how he grabbed the FL WR's arm and dragged it down to prevent the catch? Overall a great defensive play!
