Colt doesn't have the leadership a QB needs. He almost seems timid when he is interviewed.
Just because a guy is shy in front of the camera doesn't mean he's not a strong leader. The kid won 45 games in his college career. Look at the Marcel Dareus interview after the NCG. Pretty speechless. Does that detract from his ability or his leadership skills? I seriously think not.

Mel is having a really bad night, and I am loving every minute of it. If ever there has been someone who got put into a position they did not deserve and managed to remain there despite being clueless, it is Mel Kiper. He is squirming, and I am smiling.
If you haven't noticed, most of the "so-called experts" of ESPN, excluding some of their former players and coaches on staff (Gruden, Young, etc.), they really have no clue.

We must not forget though, that Kiper was on Mike and Mike radio show in the morning of Thursday, and stated Tebow would have an 80% chance of being taken in the First Round...he nailed that one...

I can't see why so many folks consider Tebow to be such a huge gamble. It's not like he doesn't bring anything to the table. In HS he threw for roughly 10,000 yards and 100 TDs. At Florida he completed 661 passes out of 985 attempts (67.1 completion %) for 9,256 yards and 88 TDs for a QB rating of 176.1. He's 6'3, weighs about 250, runs a 4.71 40 and has a 38" vertical. He's also a winner, a leader and very coachable.

Seems to me that a good QB guru worth his salt could do something with all that to work with.

Good for Tim, Kiper is so mad he can't see straight. Gotta love it.
yea he was pretty peeved LOL, dude is a joke and can't evaluate talent for anything! he was so mad it wasn't clausen LOL.....clausen is a joke and doesn't take blame for anything that goes wrong in a game. he is a spoiled rich punk who rode around ND campus in a limo to classes. i'm glad this kid got punched in the eye at that restaraunt LOL.... mark my words he will be a HUGE bust!!! congrats to Tim!! love watching him play and his attitude...only wish he wasn't a gator during college!

Another good thing about Tebow being drafted and becoming an NFL player is, now the grand diva, Brett Farve will have to share the spotlight with someone else this preseason and the time leading up to it. The sports media loves them some Tim Tebow - maybe even more so than Farve. It's gonna be fun watching!

another good point is that i don't pay much attention to NFL news, so that means i wont be consistently bombarded with tebow news :biggrin2:

cannot believe that Denver took Tebow! wow!

So many of the experts are scratching their head it has me ROFLMAO........ I think Denver just got dubbed the dumbest pick in the draft....

Unreal to draft a guy who needs TONS of coaching to correct everything in his game from taking the snap from center to throwing the ball its all wrong.. I heard one guy say well with Tebow you are just getting a great person but last time I checked for the kind of money a first round pick makes I would think getting a football player that can come in and help right away would seem to be a better option...

Big difference in speechless and timid. Bigger difference in DL and QB. I like a QB that's not afraid to grab a lineman by the face-mask and tell him to block somebody. That's my opinion of him. Your welcome to yours. :BigA:

Good move by the Broncos!

Is Tebow the only player to get a live interview? Good lord.
Indeed, the Lord is Good! Face it, Tebow is popular across the country.

Yep. Meet the new "America's Team," Denver Broncos. Increase in sales of Bronco gear will pay for Tebow. Remember, you heard it first from ole banjeaux.

I don't know if Tebow will be a good pro or not, but Clausen seems to throw sidearm at times. Tebow just needs to get the ball out quick. He can learn to do that....maybe.

Funny what the NFL wants in a quarterback. Someone that can lead a three td comeback in the 4th quarter. Farve could do that, but he'd sometimes just throw three picks instead. Clausen may someday put one or two of those together probably more of the latter, though. Tebow may never lead a three td comeback, but is more likely to keep his team from going down three scores in the first place. He'll win every single game he's given a chance to win.

Denver traded down twice and took Tebow with their 2nd pick in the first round. They had a good 1st round and I look for them to do very well in the rest of this years draft.

Denver is coming, and Tebow will have a role.

Honestly, how do you not pull for Josh Mcdaniels and the Denver Broncos. They reak of class right now. They get rid of their thugs, ala Brandon Marshall, and replace them with class act players and prospects. (They also took Demaryius Thomas over Dez Bryant in the 1st round, another example of them getting guys they feel is more of the 'team first attitude')

Whether or not this team wins or not is beside the fact, they are doing the things that I love about the game of football...they are playing it 'the right way'. IMO

I admire Tebow for his clean cut lifestyle; sets a good example for the youth of this country. But, I am not as high on him as a potentially great NFL QB. Much of his college success was his option to run, which he did quite frequently. If he does that in the NFL, he will not remain healthy for long. I do believe he can be taught to keep the ball up next to his ear when passing. He is coachable, but it will take a lot of it before he is of NFL caliber, in my opinion.

I do wish him the best, but question whether he is first round material.

Wow! Watching Tebow work out with Gruden and the long loopy backswing is gone. It's a really good looking stroke. Of course, there's that reverting to habit under pressure. I feel like Denver had a look at the new mechanics...
