Guys...they are playing Arizona. The PAC-10 is horrible this year. Nebraska has a great D but that doesn't make Texas look any better because they didn't do crap against them. They wouldn't have won that game if it wasn't for the mistakes made by Nebraska.

Nebraska gave up 31 against Texas Tech...the most Bama has given up was 21 against Auburn, and 14 of those were from two plays. On the other hand, Nebraska's O has been pretty bad the entire year. They only scored 15 against VT, 10 against TT, 7 against Iowa State, and 10 against Oklahoma. The Texas score shouldn't be very surprising...Nebraska just came to play tonight and the PAC-10 has no defense. Like at what the Mountain West has been doing to them.

The commentators just made a comment about Nebraska possibly having a better D than Alabama. They cited the VT game where, according to them, Nebraska held VT to 55 yards rushing. Thinking that is quite impressive, I checked the box score to see that it was VT that held Nebraska to 55 yards. Nebraska allowed 206 yards rushing (150 more than we did).

Meh..why let facts get in the way of a good angle, eh?

yes, the huskers defense is real. and so is bamas. can you imagine our offensive statistics if we played a lot of pac 10 teams. they are so bad on defense. usc is the only one that has shown it can play defense now and then. i have never seen a more pitiful conference performance in bowl games. when oklahoma beats stanford, and holds gerhardt to under 100 yards rushing it will be complete.

Nebraska leads 33-0 with 13 minutes to go in the 4th. It looks like the subs are coming in now.

4th quarter underway.

1st downs:
Nebraska 18
Arizona 3

Total yards are more than a ten-fold difference:
Nebraska 374
Arizona 36

Nebraska is better than their record. They had V-Tech beat (in Blacksburg) and gave it away when a QB scrambled around and they let a receiver get behind them. They also lost to Iowa State in a "Murphy's Rule" game where they lost 8 fumbles. Obviously, they also lost a cliffhanger to Texas.

They were not a team you'd like to meet in a bowl (or a conference championship game, for that matter).

Hey Guys and Gals,
I think another giant is awakening from its slumber. Look out big 12!
All of a sudden Texas' struggle with Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game doesn't look so bad. I hope our players are taking notice.

But Mack Brown's quote about "three Suh's" seems like it applies more to Nebraska (although they have 4 men) than Bama. Really, Nebraska's entire defensive line is incredible. I would be very scared if I was an OU or UT fan. I think Nebraska will win the Big XII next year. They should have won it this year.

But man Ndumakong is just awesome. He really is all he's hyped up to be. I can't wait to see him in the league.

Does this 33-0 beat down mean that Nebraska should be in a BCS game since they literally were 1 second away from it anyway?

I know its Arizona but a beat down none the less.

I honestly think they just had more time to work on their offense and work on new stuff and it payed off.

i mean is iowa state's defense that good? Nebraska only scored 7 on them.
They scored 10 points against texas tech and oklahoma

I dont think texas' defense is that good honestly i just think nebraska found an offense.

They scored more points tonight than they did in any big12 game this year

I'm impressed with the 'Big Red Defense' I believe 'The Horns' had their hands full for a reason. Nebraska really impressed me, I know it was Arizona but still they were good enough to get to a bowl. Nebraska will lose a lot to the NFL though so they shouldn't be so strong next year on 'D'.

Agreed. Their D-line is incredibly disruptive. Opposing QB's have two or three red shirts in their face right after the snap, and since Nebraska doesn't have to blitz to get pressure, the QB is looking at a hurried, off-balance throw with 7 defenders in coverage. Colt got a lot of criticism after the conference championship, but there's just only so much you can do in that situation. For comparison's sake, Foles was 9-30 for 48 yards, no TD's, and one interception.

The rest of the Nebraska squad is pretty average, but their D-line is the best in college football (and I'd put Bama and Texas in the top-5).

As mentioned, in 2010 we get OU on a neutral field (as always) and then Nebraska in Lincoln 7 days later, and if we survive that, we'll likely get Nebraska again in the conference championship game.

Nebraska had 362 yards of offense against Iowa State, but eight turnovers.

They had 396 yards tonight against the number 2 team in the Pac 10.

They had 106 yards against Texas.

A season's worth of stats suggests that the Texas D is pretty stout. We held almost every team we played this year waaay below their averages for yards and points -- the sole exception being a rivalry game on the road at A&M.

I agree with you, I wish the lead up to this game was played in the light it deserves. these are 2 really good teams with 2 really good defenses period.
