Brown and other NAACP officials are asking why the homeowner is walking free. Tests showed Edmonds had marijuana and prescription medication in his system the night of the shooting. Edmonds had a prescription for both the pot and the medication to treat depression.
I cant believe they think the homeowner should be charged.. The naacp is more racist than anybody.

Edmonds' stepson, Dale Lafferty, suffered brain damage from the baseball bat beating he took during the melee. The 19-year-old lives in a rehabilitation center and can no longer feed himself
If someone ever breaks in my house, they are getting shot--- in the head-- im not taking any chances

Yeah, there are laws on the books in several states stating that if you undertake a criminal action such as burglary, robbery, attempted murder, etc and one of your fellow lawbreakers gets killed in the process then you get charged with murder.

It is questionable as to whether or not this is a deterrent but the homeowner was completely justified in shooting the intruders IMHO.

So moma says they just wanted to buy pot. Ok, they break into a house in the wee hours of the morning, to buy pot. What a blind idiot.

I'm sick of everytime a black american breaks a law, beats somebody up, kills somebody or whatever and it's the white man's fault. ***. What about the dude they beat to a pulp with a baseball bat? I guess he should have stepped aside so he is racist for letting the black men beat him. It's his fault! It's basically the whole family's fault for being on the earth!

How can anyone, race aside, gain any respect when all you do is B and moan about every thing under the sun and NEVER take any responcibility what so ever.

Break in my house and I'm not calling Al, the NAACP, or anybody else, I'm shooting to kill, period and if you happen to be black, it's not my fault, it's yours no matter what race you might be.

if someone breaks into my place they will be shot repeatedly regardless if they are coming at me or running away. upon emptying my clip i will reload and make damn sure the job is finished. the problem with laws today is that they are no deterrent for criminals. the legal system is a revolving door joke with no real punishment. the only deterrent for criminals is being killed or severely impacted with a crippling injury. bc of that homeowners should try their best to kill any home invader to the best of their abilities. many people say that someone doesn't deserve to die for robbing someone. i say those are the people that absolutely deserve to die. they have no respect for society, personal property, personal rights, and the ability to live comfortably. they have no value to society and they are completely disgusting in all respects to me. if i was on a jury against a homeowner, regardless of race, regardless of circumstances, i would never ever declare the homeowner guilty. i wouldnt care if the homeowner shot him in the back of the head, i wouldnt care if he tied the burglar up and beat him for 3 days. the burglar gives up any and all rights in my eyes as soon as he comes into someone's place. our legal system is predicated on the assumption of this being a civilized society where incarceration is seen as a terrible punishment. what we have today is a predatory society where incarceration is a standard way of life. the system simply does not work anymore.

An old high school friend of mine got into drugs and completely screwed up his life. When people tried to talk to him he wouldn't listen. One night he was shot and killed while trying to break into a convenience store. He didn't have a weapon, and he was shot while trying to crawl through a window. He was white. There were no venomous accusations against the security guard. There was simply mourning for a young life, derailed and ended by drugs.

The good Rev NAACP needs to wake up to what's killing these kids. Blaming racism ain't gonna cut it.

Another example of races taking the easy way out....you can blame racism for anything. Don't they get that trying to get things easy is the problem to begin with? God...

Shut up, sit down, think SOMETHING through, and come up with something better than, "It must be racism." Idiots...freaking idiots the NAACP.

To top it off, most in prison have more in prison (TV, Bed, etc.) than they ever had on the outside, so they could care less, prison is an upgrade. We pay for it both ways.

I have a security system in my home and the signs of the alarm monitoring company on my doors and windows. I also have two decals displayed prominently on my front and back doors.
One is a picture of a hand holding a pistol accompanied with the phrase "I DON'T DIAL 911".
The other simply reads: "TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT - SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN".
I don't blame the homeowner one bit for shooting two of the intruders. I'd be willing to bet that the only regrets he has is that he let the third one get away.

My Law & Order legal training tells me that the case boils down to what L&O generally referred to as "felony manslaughter"; One interesting thing about the California law (if I'm reading the article correctly), is that

1. It calls for 1st-degree murder, as opposed to a lesser charge such as manslaughter

2. The California law is almost never invoked.

That combination is probably what has the NCAA upset.

That the homeowner was drunk and/or stoned is a non-starter, as far as I'm concerned. I've got a right to defend my home, and if you happen to break in while I'm drinking, well, maybe it makes me a little more trigger-happy than normal, and maybe it slows me down and messes with my aim. The bottom line is that you have no business being in my house in the first place.

That said, I couldn't help but laugh at this quote from the homeowner:

He added: "Race has nothing to do with it other than this was a gang of black people who thought they were going to beat up this white family."
Mixed signal much?

Very Interesting case. When the law isn't on your side the new route to freedom or reduced is to shout racism.
By the way I hope Bush and Cheny had alibi's or they'll be blamed.

Its this kind of reaction from the black "community" that affects the overall attitude of whites to form so called racist/bigoted opinions of them. Once again, the black community shoots itself in the head instead of condemning the crime and the criminals.
