It's a total sellout of educational integrity, but no one cares about the building blocks of society any longer. It's greed and money. I wish they had chosen to take care of the game because there would still have been plenty of money, but they chose to take care of the money and have destroyed the games. Oh well, I now have more free time. Roll Tide!
There has probably always been some kind of academic fraud going on everywhere too in the past for certain players.
But at least we had some pretense that ALL players were Student Athletes 1st and that the student part took precedence.
Most of the players probably took it seriously because they knew they NEEDED that Degree if sports didn’t work out as a career.
Now they really have no incentive to take academics seriously because they are Millionaires after 4 years and some are Millionaires before stepping on campus.
After a few decades of this cycling through institutions we are going to have a whole lot of young people who can contribute nothing to society.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
