"House" vs. "ER"

I've been an "ER" fan almost since the beginning. However, I now find I like "House" (FOX, Tuesdays after American Idol) is much better.

For those not familiar with his work, Hugh Laurie (Dr. Gregory House, a rather likeable curmudgeon with a razor sharp wit) is a very fine British actor better known overseas for his work in the "Blackadder" comedy series.

Some of the action is contrived, true. But they do throw a twist or two in the show.

I have never liked house but it just seems to be a little "darker" for me. I guess when NBC does away with ER (as they do with everything else), I will have to give it a try :)

Oh, don't worry--it'll be gone soon. Dr. Carter's final show will be on Thursday, and then you can watch the show die a slow, painful death next year. I wouldn't bet on it being around after Christmas.

NBC is trying it's best to be last in the ratings. You're right--they try to do away with all of their good shows, except for Law and Order, but they have taken it and it's spinoffs to the limit. At some point, when there is a L&O spinoff on every night, the public will finally say "enough," and NBC will be in major trouble.

What was wrong with Boomtown? Third Watch? Why cancel these excellent shows?

I know and that makes me sad! I have about 10 minutes of last week's show to finish watching before Thursday. I guess I will get to watch it sometime. As for L&O, I used to watch it when it first came on but my God, they have so many now, I just don't even watch them. I miss Third Watch already :(

If I remember right. NBC did not list it on it schedule for next fall. I believe this is the end or they are trying to see if the fan base will cry fowl to bring it back.

CBS is canceling Judging Amy, it is a shame how they let a good show fall apart like that. This season was filled with so much bad writting. :frown:
